I hope he does make it. But he has not changed his ways of diving, falling over, looking for frees and at times, being plain selfish in his approach to the team. Yes he is only young, but surely we should be seeing signs of improvement?

Nothing would make me happier to see LT become a key part of the team, but IMO he has gone backwards this year, in a year where he has had extra opportunities due to injuries.

I've thought for the last few weeks now that Thomas is greatly maligned as regards the diving. He was done out of two dead set in the back and high tackles today. He's not the biggest player so he's going to go to ground more often than the stronger bods. I find him a bit frustrating at the moment but that's about it. There's no doubt that he misses having Cambell around him. But I think some of us need to get off his back.... literally.

For all those who aren't aware of it, Kangatime was mav last year and his inexplicable hatred of LT was matched only by his inexplicable man-love for the dud Eddie Sansbury.

You probably had grounds to start this thread a few weeks ago, mav, but LT is on the improve and will keep getting better,

I reckon he played well today. A very selfless game, he always looked dangerous and the dockers were always wary of him.

For those that don't know, LTK is LT's mother. So no matter how many turnovers result in goals to the opposition she will stick by him. No matter how many times he over runs the ball, no matter how many times he squibs a contests, not matter how many times he falls off a tackle, no matter how many goals he misses , no ,matter how many times he gives up a chase she will stick by him.

I don't hate LT, I just know he's shyte.

If only Eddie was given 30 games straight like this hack. Eddie is 10 times the footballer LT is and when they are both in the SANFL he will prove it.

what rubbish. They let him hang out on the wing by himself because they knew he would kick it straight back to them.

kangatime, which banned poster are you?

I just can't see the point in knocking anyone today. We were on our way to a shellacking today, everyone was shite in the first, but it was an admirable team effort* to put in probably the best 3/4 effort in 6 months+.

* Team effort- no stragglers today**

** I dare anyone to slag off Sam Power this week.

I don't know what game kangatime was watching but I thought he was good today. His pressure in the forward line was back to his best.
Laughable you gave him votes, you obviously wernt anywhere near Jihad. His first quarter was one of the worst 30 minutes of football possible. He ended up feigning injury, dragging himself, costing us a few goals before unusually passing effectively twice. Did 3 decent things all day and about 10 shit things, was beaten at every occasion in one on ones even when he had the positioning. Votes hilarious.

I want what you,re drinking

Thankyou.

He busted his guts all day. He didn't put it on the scoreboard but he didn't stop trying or presenting.

In between stints of standing flat-footed with his hands on his hips, I agree.

"He wasn't the worst out there today."

(Sorry, Power Rangers. No copyright infringement intended.)

LTs best game for the year.....which wasnt hard..

Power is the weak link in the side.....he doesnt create play.....its fine to be a receiver providing you have the disposal to hurt the opposition...he doesnt....he doesnt attack the footy, he isnt accountable to his opponent.....when Anthony is fit Power is Off

Rubbish, there where times when his player broke his tackle gave off a handball and then went on to get a handball receive, all while LT was getting up off the ground.

Dude, we are a crap tackling side, so to bag LT because he's tackles were broken makes no sense. All of our players tackles seem to get broken without any real trouble, its an issue that needs work.

BTW, i though LT was pretty good in the first half but didnt see him much in the second.

Has had a bad year to date , but has obvious talent .

I just wonder what kind of message he is getting from the coach ?

I wouldn't bother arguing with Mav, he has stained many a sheet over Eddie.

LT just reminds poor Mav of what could have been for Sansbury. Tragic.

Surely he's in the side to do what Milne, Betts, and Leon Davis et al do...kick 2 or 3 goals a game as a crumbing small forward.
I just don't think he's ever going to do that.
I'm not sure you can carry a small forward who tries hard but makes so many mistakes.

he needs to develop his game more...when you think about the options we are developing from Jack, Liam, Wright, Ross, Flash etc we are building a midfield capable of moving forward and kicking goals.....if all LT does is sit in the forward pocket then he will become redundant.....he needs to become another midfield option.....Laidley should put him in the guts and make him accountable.....

I'm a fan of LT's and, more importantly, a supporter who wants him to succeed. I too, don't get the morbid glee in suggesting he's shit.

That said, I think it's pretty clear that Lindsay has struggled so far this year, and despite an improvement in workrate over the past few weeks, is still off-the-pace for some reason. His tackles aren't quite sticking (though he applies pressure) and some of his kicking has been poor, but not as bad as some of his decision-making. For me he's a few percent off putting in a really good game. It's like he's grinding his way towards it.

Object to the 'ball over the head' comments. LT was one of many who did this in the last quarter. You can't really blame him for turnovers when this is clearly what this set-play means. "Opposition - line up about 40metres down the wing where I'll kick the ball to you." We know it, they know it.

The biggest gap in our gameplan (if it exists) is forward entries. Hale at 200cm struggles, so I'm not quite sure how LT is meant to do better. (That said, he ran fwd of the play and demanded the ball in the F50 today that I didn't see too many doing.)

Simply put, lay off, and give the guy a go. He's not quite 'on song' at the moment, and if he doesn't improve, there will be competition for his spot. If he does, he'll keep it. Simple.

Anyone else see Wright attempt to congratulate LT after an assist in the 3rd quarter in front of the cheer squad and LT snubbed him big time, turning away from him and jogging off to join the others? Was fairly ordinary.
Not sure why people confuse standing around hands on hips with workrate. Thought he stopped shooting for goal, dragged himself and pretended to limp after ####ing up 4 or 5 times in row. Am a big fan though.

If Lindsay works that hard every game, the rest of his game will fall into place for him.

I'd love to know when he dived today too.

Yeah, I noticed that too. For a team that is supposed to be hard, it's a bit of a worry.

He's the Shane Clayton when you don't have a Shane Clayton.

His 5 tackles where all broken. All but one of the inside 50's were rubbish.

He cost us by stuffing up goal opportunities and directly caused at least 2 goals to the Dockers.

My hope is he will end up at Port...or even better Centrals.

Good post :thumbsu:

While LT was holding the ball up Swallow was in the clear screaming for it 20 metres in front of him. What seemed like an eternity later LT kicked it in his general direction, albeit straight to a Freo player. It seems like nothing now but it was a real bad sequence of play.

I was annoyed by the fact that instead of giving It off to a free player to have a shot at goal, He just tried to snap it to get a miracle goal and I think It went out on the fool. That shit me bad.

Obviously I was at a different game today. In my opinion Thomas was a consistent hard worker against Freo, was a valuable contributor and does not deserve the disgraceful rubbish that is being posted here by people who should know better.

Sometimes I wonder why I bother looking at Big Footy.
