Geez I dunno. I think LT haters are picking the wrong game to lay into him. Watched the replay today and his endeavour,chasing and defensive pressure were very good. Yep he had some clangers but so did 21 other North players.Set up Goldstein for a goal when he could have blazed away and was instrumental in the Hale sealer. A lot to like about his game I would have thought.

Every other North player would have set up Goldy; that kind of stuff is just expected and that kick to Hale was probably the best kick he had all game.

I'm sorry, but I feel as though some people are looking at his stats and saying 'wow, hes turned it around' but really, his kicking and decision making cost us quite dearly. Whenever he marked it on the wing / half forward I cringed, (although kudos to him for making a strong lead and taking the grab) he needs to work on kicking and decision making.

I think Thomas will develop into a good footballer in time. he has a great upside, but has a lot to work on.

However, for some reason in the last quarter, the name 'Flimsy Thomas' came to mind when he missed a tackle in the forward line that could have resulted in a turnover in our forward 50 but resulted in the Freo player breaking free and delivering to the wing.

His tackling and smothering ability has really dropped off this season, which is the main reason he gets a game. Why he feels the need to hold the ball up all the time especially in the first quarter is beyond me. He was directing traffic a lot for some reason on the weekend which is strange for a guy with the decision making ability of a blind rabbit.(Shane Clayton cross between Shannon Watt).
His tackling lately has been either soft or plain stupid. Needs to find the balance. He seems to have no idea what the rules are and he will never get another free kick in his life. Lucky his opponents play off him and he has the time for his brain to work. Body language is deplorable and his celebrating is unnecessary and gay.

He worked really hard with his forward pressure on Saturday.

Not a lot of the things he did came off, but I don't mind him having a few pings at goal and missing.

Wouldn't be disappointed if he was dropped for a couple of weeks to just tidy up some things in the VFL and kick a bag, but he was definitely better this week.

In our forward line of many tall players, putting defensive pressure on Freo's backline was always going to be a big task. Yet Thomas chased hard, didn't play for free kicks... just worked his guts out... I honestly don't get some of the posters on here? When posters like a player (eg Ziebell) they'll happily overlook any mistakes he makes and highlight the good stuff... and yet when they dislike a player, they'll point out any mistakes and use them to vindicate their opinion of a player as a whole.
Sure, in the past, I wasn't happy with Thomas playing for free kicks, but credit where it's due: he played well on the wkend.

But perhaps after his first kick went out of bounds then he held the ball up with his second possesion i was already pissed. A guy who has been playing terribly since about round 18 last year needs to play accordingly and pull his head in, stop directing traffic, being selfish and a spud. He plays like hes a champion of the club, when the only reason hes playing is because Cambo and Cruize have injuries and Laidley and Bewick love him.

Thomas did work much harder against Freo and it was a much-improved effort.
But he still has inexplicable brain fades - like the kick to Swallow and falling over when he had Byron Schammer on toast 40m out.
He's a frustrating player to watch at times.
