I'm still totally free of the Windows popups since making the change.

As mentioned earlier, this does not stop webpage popups, it stops the little grey Windows ones.

Just downloaded Mozilla. Stopped pop-ups, it's fantastic.

The grey windows have stopped appearing since I followed Mobba's advice. But in the last 24 hours I've had a lot more spam popup ads (most seem to come from some place called orbit) so I might have to get some anti-popup software

Imagine you MS Internet Explorer, right, and you've been using it for yonks.

Then imagine you're getting the grey popup boxes.

Imagine you want them to stop.

Imagine you're an average intelligentish person who doesn't want to go to more effort than they have to.

Imagine you have two options : check a box in some tool option, or download an alternative piece of software.

Which do you do?

The repeated advertising for Mozilla and popup stoppers etc etc is great for answering a different question, but why would anyone do it, of they can instead just check one box?

But still, how about this : My popups stopped too, but I didn't have to download Mozilla

Good for you. I just wanted to try something new so I downloaded it after hearing that it worked. It is not that much better than IE but I like it. If your happy with IE you mite as well still use it, because web browser are pretty much all the same. The tab in window browsing is fantastic, meaning I can always be on bigfooty and not clog up my task bar.
