just my opninion, let me know what you guys think?

(1) Chris NEWMAN - very solid, one of our better performers, consistent but nothing special.
(3) Brett DELEDIO - showed his class on occasions, cant get the delivery, foward or midfield is the big question, i think with richo, brown, pettifier and co, and our midfield lacking top range players, deledio should be played in the guts.
(4) Andrew RAINES - didnt get much of the pill, disposal was usual low standard.
(5) Troy SIMMONDS - was good to see the big man back in action, did well for a guy in his first proper hitout since coming back.
(6) Graham POLAK - the poor guy was played in the foward line, where i dont think the ball wasnt kicked properly to him once. needs to be played down back, but we known he can be handy down the other end too, little impact last night.
(7) Nathan BROWN - showed the natural talent that our team lacks. hopefully getting back to somewere near his best. top 3 last night IMO.
(8) Jack RIEWOLDT - lost a heap of weight. not sure if its a good or bad thing. needs to hit the gym like many other guys on the team. unfortunately i only see him being a pettifier type player, but with higher skill level and stronger mark.
(11) Joel BOWDEN - this guy never gets the praise he deserves. did his job the best he could, while helping out others in defence, but was overpowered due to lack of size. disposal always of a high standard, one of our only reliable players back.
(12) Matthew RICHARDSON - presented all night, didnt stop running. this guy is a machine and bleeds yellow and black. if every player on our team had a heart half the size of this guy, we would be a much better team.
(13) Jordan McMAHON - no standout, turned it over a few times, but disposal wasnt bad for the majority of his possesions. a step up from the howat type outsiders our club has persisted with for so long.
(15) Kayne PETTIFER - didnt see much of the ball. he put his body on the line more then i would expect, applied some foward pressure, but the poor delivery didnt help his cause. hoping for a solid season from this guy, should be at his peak by now.
(17) Kane JOHNSON - i know many say hes past his prime and its his time to go, and although i agree, he was not our worst player. definitely has lost alot of pace, but was far from the worst.
(20) Mitch MORTON - showed signs of the player he was made out to be. very good skills at times, but he too turned it over. hoping for a breakout season for this talented man.
(21) Shane TUCK - suprised me in the backline. although didnt have a standout game, but showed that usual grunt.
(23) Daniel JACKSON - poor peformance from daniel. i'm a fan but wasnt seen much throughout the game.
(26) Adam PATTISON - very quiet, however hard working and earnt all our repsect last season, hope he keeps that up.
(29) Jarrad OAKLEY-NICHOLLS - i want this guy to prove everyone wrong, but i dont know how much longer we can all wait for him to just show us something, anythign to give us the slightest bit of hope. he looked lost, and when he has the ball he thinks he has all the time in the world. disposal is very poor too, and doesnt appear to be quick.
(30) Richard TAMBLING - rolled his ankle just a couple of weeks back. racked up a few possies, but didnt impress. he will get better, big season is on the cards, otherwise do or die for bling.
(31) Chris HYDE - is an average footballer at best. i love seeing that sidestep he has perfected so well, but just doesnt have the game to cut it.
(32) Greg TIVENDALE - this guy is criticised way too much IMO. is no where near as bad as people make him out to be. showed his penetrating left foot skills by hitting a few targets, but overall game needs to be of a high level this season or he could face the chop.
(36) Jarrod SYLVESTER - i thought he looked slow, and out of his depth. just isnt an AFL footballer. seeing him play for coburg i thought he might have the goods but after last night im having second thoughts.
(37) Travis CASSERLY - something positive to actually get out of this game, along with moore. looked ready and able. good disposal and dash, and looked like he belonged. could be a very handy player.
(38) Tristan CARTLEDGE - just an insurance player, will never be a great ruckman, but on occasions can get the job done.
(40) Kelvin MOORE - looked bigger, fitter, and like he wanted to play. was very impressed with his game. disposal was up to scratch, and that mark was unbelievable.
(41) Nathan FOLEY - our best midfielder by a mile. cant question his work ethic. never gives up, doesnt stop running and has the possesion to match. captain material and with the next step up can be elite.
(46) Jake KING - the lil trooper has heart. hits the target 9 times out of 10 and is a tough nut, something we lack. the type of player you love to watch.

overall our disposal was abismal, with the exception of a few, but still the lowest in the league. so many guys look lost and dont know what to do with the ball. we need to stop playing around with it. the midfield needs to work together, and tapping to advantage needs to be worked on. also we need a big bodied defender but they dont grow on trees so we will have to just work with what he have for now.

will be interesting to see polo, connors and edwards in the middle.

all three are very exciting, polo has apparently been ripping it up, connors has the toughness and skill and edwards is not afraid to take on players, but also comes out of it succesful.

schulz could really be a star for us if he pulls his finger out, either foward or down back. also hughes needs to do the same, he could be something special.

its going to be a long year, im not asking for an extreme makeover, spooners to top 4, just solid improvement and that the boys are going in the right direction and were progressing as a club.

lift your game tiges.

Nice wrap up.

Newman was great, think he will get close to winning our B&F this year.
Deledio was okay but this FF business won't work unless we learn how to kick inside 50.

Tambling, Raines and Jackson didn't get much gametime and when on the field were useless.

Hyde is gone after this year, finally. Moore and Casserly impressed me. :thumbsu:

King and Foley are great to watch. Great to see Simmo back in action. Silvester and Cartledge are no good.
