I love the way this guy goes about it. Does anyone know if he has hit the gym in the preseason? I think he can be a top 12 player for our club what do other people think?
I think he could get a game straight up next year the only questionm will be injuries.

He could do anything, or nothing in 2006 depending on what he can do over the next five months, and of course injuries.

There is no one who would question his courage and the coaching staff would love the "stick my head over the ball at all costs" mentality he has.

He just will need to find a spot in a team that will not expose his shortcomings like strength and decision making - sounds a bit like half our team!! Personally, a spot as a third tall defender or tall half forward flanker may be the go. Just as long as he avoids Matthew Lloyd's forearm when the Bummers come along!! :p

Let's hope you are right!! With Thomas Murphy, Matt Little and picks 3, 6, 14, 18 , and 22 also scoring invites!! :)

im worried about injuries. Of course his more bound to injuries with his light build, so he will have to hit the train room but i cant see him filling out to a huge size i think they will keep him as a lappin sized player. Thurgoods pace is vital coming out of the backline for our high possesion open field type of footy...I have some doubts on the kid next season is basically make or break. He willl either flourish to a great player or will wither away into not getting any games and eventual delisting. I have no idea what this kid will do......

seen him in the crown the other night doesnt look like he's hit the gym lately. he could eat a happy meal and double his size. we need to get him on the rioli training schedule

I bet he doesn't live up to the hype; no offence but the only reason he's held in such high regard in the football comunity is because of his individual appearence and his nack for getting injured, which makes commentators talk him up.

True

He has only played a few games and people are talking him up big time. He has shown he has good potential but I think some people are getting a bit excited to early. Let just wait and see.
I hope he turns out a gem

This game particulary showed he has a long way to go, looked lost in defence and his positioning was terrible.

The exciting (but scary) thing about supporting the baby Hawks in 2006 and beyond is the unknown quality of the youngsters that Clarko will be banking on for improvement.

Josh Thrugood is a classic example - could be very exciting sprinting of the half back flank, red dreds flying everywhere, hitting Buddy on the chest on the wing, who wheels around onto his thumping left foot and hits Willo on the chest metres clear of his opponent on a lightning lead 40 metres out from goal. :)

But if Josh misses that target because of inexperience/underdeveloped foot skills....

I say, enjoy the ride either way because...at least you do not support the Bummers!!! :p

Like his suicidal endeavour, courage and pace........
but his skills and decision making are woeful.
If these areas don't improve dramatically, I can see him becoming the focus of a lot of Hawks supporters ire!!!! (move over Heebie, Jacobs, Flash Harry etc).

Hope he proves me wrong!!!!

That's not true, his football ability and courage were on show at certain stages through the year, IMO the only thing holding him back is weight. Sure his hair brings added attention, but definately has some ability, and once he starts to fill out slowly (this will take more than just one pre-seaons, we are talking 2-5 years of work on his body) he'll be able to played in a variety of positions.

At the moment he is only capable of playing off a back flank IMO.
