hawkins reminds me ALOT of a young whitnallLuke McGuane seemed to have him covered pretty well at Coburg when we played Geelong recently. Towelled him up and Luke's no heavyweight.

I think that's what clinched the nomination for him. He showed throughout the season he was a good stopper, but in those last couple of games he started to provide some run out of the backline and set up some plays. Although Thursfield may have thought the last game was one of his worse games, it was in many ways also one of his most promising games because of those extra things he was starting to show.
