Hey everyone, just wondering what the go is with the ticketing for Friday night's match. I know it's a North home game but is it still fully ticketed like last year's match? Do you still have to book tickets even if you're still a member?

Cheers.

Kangaroos v Essendon

Friday 11th May

Telstra Dome

In recent years, all Essendon games (home or away) at Telstra Dome have been fully ticketed games whereby every person attending the game must have some form of reserved seat. Kangaroos members with admission were still forced to obtain a reserved seat – this has now changed.

The above game will NOT be fully ticketed so Kangaroos members without a season reserved seat can swipe their membership card as usual and sit on level 3.

Oh awesome, cheers for that guys. Should be massive.

Do I get to sit in my seat on Level 2?

Im of the opinion that Non-All-ticketed games generally get bigger crowds than all ticketed affairs.
Get in quick on Friday Night ladies and gentlemen before all the Essendon ferals get in!!

40,000 tops. They love a bandwagon the Bombers. Won't be close to a sell out.

Yep plenty of dons fans will turn up, we're suckers for punishment. It's a good thing they sell booze at the footy, by the time north start bending us over i shall be doing my irish heritage proud by being as pissed as one can get at the footy

While I have a reserved seat, I have just been checking seating out for 4 friends with memberships but no reserved seat. There are no seats available on Level 1. You can pay for a reserved seat on Level 2. No reserved seating on Level 3, just general admission. So it will be best to get in as early as possible.

Interesting, the fact that it is our home game changes things dramatically.....

What is so dramatic? Last year it was our home game and fully ticketed, it just means supporters without a reserved seat rock up and grap a seat instead of having to get in line for a seat ticket.

I htink you'll find it wasnt our home game last year...

Every game Essendon play at the dome is a fully ticketed game...

The official word from the AFl website:

Game details: Rd 7 - Kangaroos v Essendon
This is not a fully ticketed game. Kangaroos and Essendon members with entry entitlements to the game may scan their membership card at the gate to access Level 3 general admission. Alternatively, members may upgrade to a Level 1 or Level 2 reserved seat through Ticketmaster.

We played them on June 30th 2006 in round 13 and it was our home game. In 2005 it was their home game.

If every game they play is fully ticketed why isn't this weeks game? All their home games are fully ticketed and there are very few of their away games that are not ticketed.

Change of policy for this year - not sure why.

I love Friday night footy.
A few drinks after work, a nice dinner and a walk to Telstra Dome.

My wife doesn't like it though as she has to put two small kids to bed by herself...

I think a fully ticketed game may turn away some fans (the added cost of buying a seat + booking fee). They may get a bigger crowd the way it is this year.

Seems a logical explanation.

Fully ticketed is rubbish, idea was born when they assumed Essendon was going to pack it out every week.

Thank god sanity has prevailed.

The fact it's NOT fully ticketed will push the crowd up, but having Essendon supporters purchasing reserve seats for our "home" game would have been nice also.

is there a way of reserving seats for me and my and my 2 kids ( all members) without paying $40+ per ticket? Am i missing something?

Have a play around with Ticketmaster site, and see if there is a purchasing option for members. From memory, you shouldn't have to pay the seat price, only the booking fee.

If that doesn't work, ring the club.
