Yes, i am a NMFC 14 game member, and i am wondering if i can just turn up on the day, and gain free entry (i should because of my membership entitlements)... i dont care where i sit/stand if i have too...

I havent missed a NM game in vic for 3 years, and don't want to start now!

I presume there is walk up spots :)

I just emailed the GFC and they said standing room tickets were all that is left so I snapped up 4.
Can someone point me in the direction of the GFC supporters forum and/or details on how to get from Melbourne to Geelong for the game?
I'm assuming train would be best?
Myself and 3 others are coming over from Adelaide and are staying just across the road from the Telstra Dome.
Should be a big weekend as we're catching the Sts v Cows game, the SANFLv VFL game and the Kangas v Cats.
Go Cats!

Or you could get a membership :)

i have one...but all reserved seats were sold out so you have to line up for general admission and hope you get in, which is bad when i drive 90mins to get there.

Is there still the hassle of having to stand down there at KP? Man that was going on 10 years ago! The new stand would help I guess, but they're obviously not allowing for enough people...now I won't be going

Standing in the outer at KP is one of the great football experiences.

It is certainly not a hassle. As the game becomes more and more sterile I love this old school tradition.

You can buy a general admission ticket before you go to the game. Will cost you about $6 (booking fee), but guarantees you entry!

I'm pretty sure they spare 2,000 tickets for game-day alone. Whether they're standing or seating, I'm not too sure.

RoosterWedgie, the best of getting there IMO is car. There's always a car spot because the little primary school (South Geelong P.S.) takes cars for about 5 bucks. But if you're planning on going with your mates and having a few beers then I guess the train would be best!!!!

For the Bulldogs game, this is what I found. I would expect it to be rather packed this week.

Me & ScottyDeewah are both GFC members, and we pre-bought general admin tickets during the week for both ourselves, my bro, and my dad.
When we got into the ground about 12:40pm (1:10pm kickoff) we were told that we could still get a seat over near the Bulldogs cheer squad.
There were quite a few scattered seats (you would struggle to get 2 next to each other) but people were buying general admin at the ground and walking into these seats. So it's not a total lost cause.
Otherwise, go stand in the outer. Squash in somewhere, have a chat to someone and enjoy the most suburban AFL ground (except maybe Launceston, Manuka, etc)

FYI, I generally try get to the ground at least an hour before kick off time.
It's a daily effort to go to the footy in Geelong from Melbourne, but well worth it.

Unfortunately I think I'll be over the baggage limit with Qantas if I put my Falcon in my luggage in the flight from Adelaide to Melbourne this weekend! :D

Slip some drugs in the Falcon and you'll have no problem with your Qantas baggage. ;)

I believe there was a plan to put seating in there... but strong backlash against it so they left a fair chunk of standing room. It is awesome though, only ground still in the league with that kind of atmosphere. You are missing out by not going, it's an experience!
