Jake Batchelor deserved a number upgrade in my eyes, until the kid got injured he was having a stellar year and really made hb his own.

Agree, Batch defenitely earned the right to a number change. I liked him in 31 tbh, reckon it looked good on his big frame

I reckon that Brandon Ellis should wear 15. It was his draft number and he also reminds me of Hodge. Elton looks like a 22 and give Arnot a high number like 42 until he proves himself.

No oneshould have to wear the burden of # 22 far less a first year draftee !
Nason came off a good first 2010 season in 47 moved to 22 and was delisted !

15.Ellis - 1st round pick , wears 15 at lower level & was drafted with pick 15

22. Arnot - Good mid range number that he will stay with & make his own also needs to be a higher number than Elton as he will play 1-2 years before Elton is ready.

42/43 . Elton - 2-3 years before he is at a level to play consistant AFL football by that time 16 or 21 should be vacant for him to step into.

An old and proud club like ours has a lot of history attached to those lower numbers.

Give the young'uns a desire to wear a vaunted geurnsey, adds a bit of hunger to them I reckon

Newy had no.1 before becoming captain. My guess would be they're saving it for him when Cotch takes over as captain.
