I'm one of the few who like Sam.

Ditto. She's the only one worth listening to on that inane show (which we see after the game in Sydney - go figure). And Tim's alright more often than not, although as has been pointed out, when he does crash & burn there's nothing subtle about it.

Even Bomber got in a shot at his comment post-game, and I'm sure it will serve as another log for the fires in the belly that were evident in our players tonight.

I hope they all write us off! :D

Was it Tim Lane who wrote off Lingy during the Sydney game? Only for Lingy to do some really good stuff immediately after including a goal with his RIGHT FOOT!! from 50 metres. His daughter Sam Lane is a flog too.

No, that was actually Walls. For some reason he has it in his head (like some do on here, mind you) that Ling is past his use by date.

Tim Lane is indeed a flog. Glad to see Bomber give it to him in the press conference...pretty gold actually.

Tim was probably the most respected caller in the game during his 774 days.
It's sad to see how far he has fallen since moving to commercial television.

Quote - 'the days of dominance are over!' Five unanswered goals later he's a touch quiet. Tool.

When he said it I hopped up to grab a drink and would have kicked the cat if we had one.

Then on the way back I thought 'no he is right, our dominance is over but maybe we can win the flag one more time'

2 minutes later and I thought 'nup, we are done, we look crap'

And then wow. I haven't seen a quarter of aggressive attack on the ball like that since 2008.

Darcy is both annoying and hilarious during Bulldogs games 'LAKE DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR 8 GOALS HE GOTTA GO OFF' haha.

You know the tool meter is off the charts in a commentary box when Walls slots in at #3 behind those two flogs.

I know! Obviously more confident about showing the world the elbow strapping, which is good to see.

If it was obvious to us, I'm sure the opposition picked up on the reason for the long sleeves.

It is either getting better or it was targetted so he went the short sleeves to imply it was ok now.

At least we got the Friday game against the Blues - Seven means no shitty barracking from Tim Lame and Throbbie Balls, which is a good thing. Intelligent barracking from Tom Harley is also a good thing:thumbsu::thumbsu:

Bulldogs were 12 points in front - about 15 minute into the first.

He was building the dogs up alot earlier than that tho.... I texted a mate when it was 6 points all asking if it was just me or where the commentators giving the dogs a massive verbal head job.... Cos you would have thought that we were 10 goals down, It was really really REALLY getting on my nerve.. luckily we went on to kick 14 straight in a burst and it put them in their box.... Only for all the flu talk to then start up....

I was thinking the same thing. I remember hearing them say something and I had to look at the scores again as I thought I must have missed 4 goals

I was listening to SEN this morning (Sunday) and they were having a go at Lanes' comment as well as K. Bartlett's suggestion that the Dogs would flog Geelong, flu or not, as the Cats are on the slide.

Ease up, Tim Lane is one of the rare consistently good commentators out there. True his 774 days where awesome, and his print journalism normally spot on (I wish people would actually take his views on Tasmania and the expansion a bit more seriously).

However, thats what he is paid to do...put a little flavour in the game; you see he must, like us all had the perception that Geelong where just raring to go and to keep the bulldogs and neutral supports interested in the game he had to make a few off the cuff remarks like this!!

Doing it for Football Laney!

That's the thing though Gaz.
It wasn't off the cuff. He was saving that up, you could tell.

And he built it up for 5 minutes before he handed it out.

I hope the players get to hear it. The timing couldn't be better.

When he said that... although we weren't playing the best at the time, I was pretty shocked - a pretty stupid thing to say about 10 minutes into a game.

Its actually kind of funny.

Yeah, I must admit I felt he wanted to be the man making the "We are witnessing the end of an era before our eyes" call

He really got it wrong. Doesn't mean he won't try it again and the law of averages says that one day he'll be right

Most humiliating moment for a sports journalist in 2010
