Should be looked at.

At 22, he qualifies for the rookie list next season and I think he's worth the gamble.

He was a number 4 pick with undoubted ability who's just faced terrible injury troubles.

Get his body right, and we might be looking at a massive bargain.

just because he's a number 4 pick doesn't mean he'll be good. i saw him play for the werribe reserves and he is hopeless. pretty much a carbon copy of kepler without the ability to run or take a grab, you do the math

No, being a number 4 doesn't mean you'll be good, but it does represent a degree of potential.

You may have seen him running round for the Werribee reserves, but he's been no where near full fitness. If we're able to get him fit, you'll see a much better player running around. A fit Tim Walsh actually bears some resemblence to Gumbleton's style of play, there's no Kepler Bradley in him at all.

It's a big 'if'. but the rookie list is where you take those risks, and there's a chance it may pay dividends.

Daniel McAlister was pick number 4 and what did he do?

Might have potential, we already have enough on the list with "might have" potenital. If he had some he would of shown a little by now.

Pass.

The thing is, he would be on the rookie list. There's nothing lost if it doesn't work out as far as I'm concerned.

There's a difference between Walsh and McAlister, McAlister got a chance to prove himself at full fitness.

I guess then it depends on what player would miss out for Walsh and the potential that they might have.

Doesn't the fact that the Bulldogs lack key forwards give any indication as to whether or not we should look at him?

I think it was lack of patience that led to his delisting and fair enough, there's very little chance that he'll make it.

However, there's very little chance that most rookies will make it. I think he might be worth a gamble, and I don't see that gambel coming at any great cost.

I played with him at a very young age - was a gun then, no idea what he's like now. But as mentioned the fact that a team who is in dire need of talls let him go, speaks volumes.

Luke Livingston was four as was Josh Kennedy, Richard Tambling and Farren Ray.

Its a bit of a cursed draft pick.

GoDons, you start a thread where i'm guessing you are enquiring about other people's opinions and then when they don't agree with yours you shoot them down. Not everyone has to agree with you when it is obvious he won't get another crack at the AFL

If I see a hole in someone else's argument, I'll let it be known. You don't have to agree with me, you're welcome to your own opinion, but I've simply said why I believe he should be looked into.

I said he should be looked at, you said he's crap, I gave some reasoning for his poor performances.

If that's 'shooting' you down, I don't know what is.

If he's rookied i reckon it would be no problem. He's been plagued by injury his whole career and if we get lucky and he has a good season it could be worth it.
Rookies this year won't be that great i suspect so i think it would be worth the risk to put him on the rookie list as it's not like it would hurt us if he didn't end up doing anything, but if he did get a full pre season in and show something during through the year then it would be a bonus.
