Geez didn't Patton feel like a goose last night playing on microseconds before the siren went when he could have had a shot on goal.

Basically turned the game around and let the tiggy cats back in (mind games).

Why haven't we solved this issue yet?

It's as simple as the runners around the ground knowing the time that is left and when the game clock is past 30 mins players who mark inside 50 should immediately look to the runner who gives them a signal. One hand waving means there is more than 10 seconds left - can give off if it's on. Two hands up mean stop and take the shot. That whole look and signal takes less than a second.

Will the AFL clubs wait until it costs them big time before they do something about this?

I know I'm tackling the big issues here and I'm happy to keep being that voice for all of you.

Surely the Giants on field coach Nick Maxwell should have been on top of it.

His problem would have been he hadn't been back to the bench to check on the time ;). He would have had no better idea than the players.

How about if you're a key forward and take a mark inside 50, 30+ mins into a quarter, you go back and kick it?

Nah well to be fair he made the right play - Toby was in acres of space and a bloke that annoyingly good, considering his face and temperament, steaming into goal is more reliable than a shot from 50.

Just had no time to make the play.

I do agree we need our big boiz taking their set shots more often though.

I hate it when players needlessly pass the ball on when they have a regulation shot in of them. I remember Kennedy doing it in the 2015 grand final (admittedly when the game was basically done) only for the recipient to fluff it. Why?

In last night's example obviously the issue was that it was late in the quarter but even if it wasn't there's also a risk the player will fumble and get tackled or blow it.

If you have a regulation shot 40m out without a ridiculous angle go back and take the bloody shot!

Or anytime really.

If you’re a key forward that’s your job. And he’s not even a bad kick.

Never understood why forwards have had the “selfishness” to take the kick coached out of them. To me it’s selfish to pass on the responsibility to someone else.

If a player kicked or handpassed the ball directly to Maxwell would that be an instant free? In one play which was a ball up in the tigs forward 50 he was occupying a forward pocket 15 meters out.

Or a player cleans him up with a hip or an elbow would they get suspended.

FO Maxwell.......

He's not alone - have seen plenty of runners on field this year for more time than they should be. Get rid of them.
