Not bad I would suggest collingwood would jump at this effectively swapping Reid for wellingham and Dawes. They can cover wellingham and Reid is a way better prospect than Dawes.
Yep agreed - the only problem is that it's very complex - and therefore high risk of falling over. Can't see it happening either. :)

Vader's rumour of Kennedy > Roughead > Tippett makes sense. Has all the hallmarks of a good deal - fair, seen to be fair, simple, equitable and probably no one needs any sweeteners.

Only problem would Roughey be happy to come to come to the Crows?
Effectively trading Roughead for Kennedy would be amongst the dumbest things imaginable, can't see why they'd do it and why he'd really want to leave.

On a possibly related note, I was just wondering if there is any mechanism in place to stop Melbourne and Gold Coast doing a deal where GC agree to not bid on Viney so Melbourne get Viney for pick 26 then Melbourne agree to give up pick 4 for Caddy to GC. This seems like it would be against AFL rules and would greatly help both of those 2 clubsbut I'm not sure if it would be enforceable. Perthaps Andreson would step in like he did last year to stop the big Trade Adelaide had in the works.

From todays Age

The Tippett deal will need to be brokered between the Swans and Adelaide today, but due to ''an understanding'' with Adelaide when he signed his last contract, that deal should be completed for a second-round draft pick and or a third-round pick or player.

If this happens it will be the biggest injustice in football history IMO.
Wouldn't be injustice, we'd deserve everything that we've got coming if we lost an A-grader for pick 42 due to a clause that we manufactured.

I'd expect a few people at the club to fall on their swords if this actually transpires.

I would love seeing just a hint that Roughhead wants out somewhere else than a thread in the Crows board talking about replacing Tippett.
Yep agreed - some external source would be good. But still I have to say it s the only scenario I've seen that makes intrinsic sense to me on all counts. We may not get the 'hint' on Roughead we'd like until the deal is done - same for Kennedy for that matter - everyone then saves face if it falls over.

BTW we need to reserve a bed at Glenside for Nobes for later in the week - he's going to need it !

the Age is the equivalent of a bay 13 troll honestly, do they even listen to the clubs?

Well part 1 has already happened... If part 2 is in the pipeline (it may not be), and the AFL did block it, it would be pretty hilarious. But that would mean disadvantaging their precious Gold Coast, so it won't happen.

What about Lewis Johnston?

I dont think a KPF is our biggest need
Nah a KPF isnt. I dont know a huge amount about LJ so not sure how he plays. But someone like Roughie would be a huge get. Wouldnt need another ruck as we could play a full time ruck and 2 pinch hitters. Roughie or Jenkins might be groomed for CHB?

Can't believe GC lost their nerve on this one, had to make Melbourne cough up pick 3 for Viney.

During draft Camp last week.

Melbourne's first question to Toumpas.

"We have a kid here who is the son of a Club Legend, Staff Member and Club Captain. Why should we take you ahead of him?"

An 18 year old lad from South Adelaide told me that yesterday. Should be too hard to work out who.

If Hutchy the muppet says 1 more time about us needing to honour this rubbish agreement and send Kurt to Sydney, i'll drive to Melbourne and punch him myself

He's just quoted that Sydney will only offer up pick 46 because they're in the box seat with us needing to honour the agreement...

I can't believe that they would think this is a reasonable outcome, if this was say Day or Lynch and we were offered this I would.........................................and then sew it to his forehead

Any SA sporting team except Port
Our problem is GWS have said thanks but no thanks. So he would go to GCS.

Something tells me he wouldn't care. Take his money and go surfing and we get zip.
OK I am replying to this one as I catch up reading this thread from yesterday, so don't shoot me if I'm behind.
What's wrong with doing a deal with Gold Coast somehow, play real hardball with Sydney so the deal falls through, and boofhead goes to the Suns? That way we get something out of it.

Suns have traded pick 2. Melbourne are using pick 26 for Viney. And Adelaide won't be honouring their "go home" agreement with Tippett. AFL website.
