So I've been pondering what it means for $kurt to have accepted a conditional contract with Sydney.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/149269/default.aspx

Does this mean he can't actually back away from that and agree to trades to other clubs?

Is that why he won't look at discussing other trades? Does it violate that in-principle agreement with Sydney?

Clever ****** that Blucher if this is the case.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - I'm really concerned we did ourselves in back in 2009. If Blucher was playing games with us then coz $kurt was so keen to go home - ******* send him home at the end of 2010. You still had that 1 year (top 4 year right Craigy?? ;) ) to make a run at the premiership.

I've seen some feedback on emails some other posters have shared with Harps and he indicated Triggy doesn't need to be here for this trade as he was involved in the 2009 one...

I think you can guess where my thoughts are leading on that...

Like I keep saying, I pass on what I'm told, and so far this trade period my mail has been almost spot on. I said Wellingham would be off to West Coast for pick 17 before it happened (despite some ridicule), I said Dawes would be at Melbourne before it happened, despite others saying he wouldn't and would go to the Bulldogs. Tell me any one else who went on record with this (before it happened), then tell me I am a troll. No wonder FAITH has had a guts full of it. Think I'll be gone now as well, but when Muppett is lining up for the swans and Adelaide has its high draft pick, you will know I was on the money
Ignore them. Most of us would like the info.

ps love your work Faith and Hodra.

If we are being pussies and looking to accept 22 then the letting it out publically is the least of the clubs recruiting concerns IMO.

No.. he can't - and that's the only position of strength we have in this negotiation. GWS and Carlton both have the money and the desire to grab him should he appear in the ND or PSD. That, of course, assumes that Noble & co have the intestinal fortitude to forgo pick #23 and piss him off for nothing. Short term pain, long term gain - but do they have the balls to do that?
And again I ask, why do we have a converted footy coach doing this stuff for us when teams like West Coast have former lawyer/player managers?

I am no expert but would not have thought so. The contract would be conditional on successfully trading with Adelaide. If that doesn't happen the conditions are not met and the contract would not be executed.

I agree with M23

People need to stop going on a roller coaster ride based on Chinese whispers and unfortunately the 3 weeks trade period has escalated people's emotions

At this point of time I still hold trust in Noble & co, Noble has made a public threat to send Yippett to the draft, we are yet to accept pick 22 and we know there are other interested parties, outside of this the rest is just pure speculation

As a collective group we need to lift the standard of this board, unfortunately there is a minority on this board that continue to turn on our own and this does discourage people to post, personally I know people who are BF members and Crows supporters who will post on other boards however refuse to post on the Adelaide board. This is disappointing

For one I certainly believe in freedom of speech, I enjoy a good debate and love a good rumor however to many times I get turned off a thread because it's been hyjacked by a minority throwing emotional hand grandees

When I joined BF in 2008 I truly believed that we had the best board however in 2012 those standards have slipped and as a collective group we should stop eating our own

I'll get off my soap box now

So you guys don't believe such a conditional contract could include clauses thate prevent $kurt from entertaining other club offers? If not why sign it...?

"We've had no contact from the Giants … and it doesn't matter because Kurt has chosen to be with the Sydney Swans," Blucher said.

This Bulcher guy is an idiot, surely Tip$ must be thinking he chose the wrong person to manage probably the most important contract of his career.
Tip$ is not a free agent, Bulcher! I hope this deal falls through and your career does likewise.

The last thing I want to do is come up with another hypothetical trade... ha ha... But, as I see it, the Crows' best chance of a better trade return is for GWS and Swans to deal with each other.

Sydney gives pick 23 + a fringe player or two to GWS for pick 12 or 13.
We get pick 12 or 13.

Still not ideal, but a hell of a lot better than 23.
While I have only had a quick read of the youngsters up for grabs I think we really need a top 10 pick and 12 and 13 may not really get us anything worthwhile.
Need one of those top 3 to get Toumpas :)

"The Swans are reportedly able to meet Tippett's wage demands, but their apparent offers of a second-round pick or out-of-favour forward/ruck White are short of the Crows' expectations."

From the AFL draft winds article for today. An offer of a second round pick or White are short of Crow's expectations? I would have thought they were even short of crazy Vossy's expectations!

I think there is logic in the thought that if we were prepared to accept pick 22, wouldn't we have done it by now? Clearly we are still trying to get a better offer.

I also think we've been quite different with our approach this year, where normally we try to do things behind the scenes, there is a whole lot of breast beating going on as it is being played in the media - first with Trigg with the "not honouring the handshake agreement because he's not gone home to QLD", then Blucher with his "they should accept pick 22 thats a good deal", then Ireland with "we are not giving up a premiership player, or mitchell", then Noble with "we'll send him to the draft", then GWS entering the fray "we've got a shit load of low picks and we want him", and finally Blucher with "Tippett is still in control". It will be interesting to see how the next stage plays out.

The real barrier here is Kurt's SUPER INFLATED salary

This is the deal changer in Syd favor, if Tippett was commanding a $600-$700k salary all the aces would be in our hand

Syd strategy is obvious, that is to price Kurt out of the market and offer little in return and unless the Giants come out and say that we can meet Kurt's demands and will take him in the draft we have little to bargain with

With this in mind I would rather take nothing than to be insulted
