No they're not. These journalists keep forgetting the clause which says that GWS can take a 2nd (or 3rd) player from the same club, provided the club agrees to it. They have very short memories, given that Brisbane allowed GC to take two uncontracted players from them, just 2 years ago.

IIRC he was quite adamant that Gunston was leaving when the club was under the impression that he would stay. Jars sprouts a lot of shit, doesn't necessarily mean he's always wrong, unfortunately it does mean that you can't trust him. Although you can't really trust anything reported until it is "official".

Negative. The difference is that GWS have 2 years to sign uncontracted players - and hence they aren't allowed to sign Tippett without Adelaide's permission. GC only had 1 year to do the same. GC are now in the same position as all the legacy teams when it comes to the PSD.

Jars on MMM last night said that one of his friend's who's daughter dates Joel Tippett said that Kurt's gone to Sydney, deal was done 3 months ago and Joel will be leaving SA after the SANFL Grand Final as well. Was told this on the weekend after picking them up after they'd had a quite a few drinks and that they had to keep it secret until season's end.

I don't think this at all because at best Smack is a part time ruckman. I can see him being more of a permanent forward or even defender. He doesn't have the height to be a full time ruckman

In that case we might as well delist him now. He's an adequate ruckman - better than Jenkins, but not as good as Tippett. He's a poor forward and a diabolical defender. If he's not playing in ruck, then there's no case for selecting him at all.

I don't care if Kurt has no improvement left in him at all - there's almost no chance at all that Jenkins or McKernan will end up being as good as he is now. Jenkins will at least end up being a good AFL standard footballer, which is more than I can say for McKernan - but Tippett is in a different class entirely.

We must agree to disagree here. I have never rated Kurt as the superstar so many on here, including you, believe him to be. He is a forward that can't kick straight and a very average 2nd ruckman.
My view is that either McKernan or Jenkins or both may surpass Tippett as AFL footballers in time. Delusional? Strong word to use there, mate.
I know it's fashionable to knock McKernan and to say he's useless, but such prophesies come back to bite those that make them quite often.
I look forward to bumping this thread sometime down the track.
