Young or old, Howard is still an average player. Which is fine, every team has those guys in the midfield, but it's not the sort of player you go chasing in trade week.

If Giles comes to Adelaide he'll only play AFL football if Jacobs is injured. If he's leaving GWS, why the **** is he coming to the Crows? He'll get games AND finals if he goes to one of the Melbourne based clubs.

Backup ruckman through the draft. You won't get anyone good in trade, because no good ruck with an ounce of intelligence is going to come here with Jacobs on the list unless he's a seriously good forward as well - which Giles is not. Thanks to the sub rule, it's a sad but simple fact.

As for a backup KPD - if we keep Thompson, draft. If we lose Thompson, Hooker would be an acceptable get if we get him cheaply, say our third round pick.

Whitfield is the surest thing to a lock pick one as your gonna get

I was told Toumpas isnt as good as crouch.
Toumpas atm is rated 5-8 in this draft so to use pick 2 probably wouldnt do it.

Google Jimmy Toumpas mate; almost every expert has him going top 3; Lloyd (I know, I know) had him going #1.

Saying what if about that is pointless, because I can then say "What if Goodes hadn't blown his knee in the first half?" and "What if Mumford hadn't pulled his already injured hamstring in the 3rd quarter?". Aside from which, Sydney has no forwards aside from Reid to actually pick, so a second ruckmen coupled with their particular gamestyle was a logical choice.

Playing Giles and Jacobs together necessitates having one or both of them playing serious minutes as a forward, and to be brutally honest neither of them is a particularly effective forward for longer than short bursts to disorient defenders. It does not suit our game style.

With all due respect Tippett is a much better player than Clarke so I don't share your view. You can build a forward line around Tippett but you can't build one around Clark.

We will agree to disagree on this one but a few good footy judges have said in the media that Adelaide should be expecting two first round picks one of which is inside 10.

The short amount of time we saw Clarke this year his form was outstanding. Better than Tippett comfortably and in a basketcase of a side. Clarke also has had an elite season. I am still waiting on Kurts. I think the comparison between the 2 is fair.

I would not be surprised if we use Tippett as means to get Toumpas or into the mini draft again to try and get Hogan. David Noble was very creative last year with the trading and managed to get Crouch and Jenkins.

I am sure Oglvie has done his research again and Noble is once again looking to get creative to get the most value from this in the long term.

I would rather one elite kid than an average pick and an average player. Even if we have to throw our first pick in, just do it..

When Reid and Trigg did agree to re-contract Tippett in 2009 they also vowed to look more favourably on trade deals once Tippett opted to return to Queensland.
A terse long-distance call between Paris and Brisbane - between Trigg and Tippett's manager Peter Blucher - has brought an end to that agreement.
Trigg told Blucher it was no longer relevant because Tippett was not seeking a "go-home" trade but a move to the highest bidder.

Even if there was a "Gentleman's Agreement" to trade Tippett to Gold Coast, I think he pretty much pissed on it with the way he and his management have handled this whole thing.

I have been saying it for years but Adelaide need to make a tough stand once and this sort of shit would not be happening so often.

I guess there is more talented players available even though we all love him.
It was a conversation based on if we considered Toumpas instead of Crouch for Mini draft.
Apparently not seriously as Crouch is much better talent and Toumpas probably wont go top 4 whereas Crouch def would of.....

Hope im wrong because i love Toumpas hope Nobel and co can somehow get us this boy....
