This is what we need to be looking at. What else can we package up, in order to get pick 2?

Tippett + ? = pick 2
 
I had an interesting experience when I went to a festival in QLD not too long ago. Many of the people I spoke to who we're from the Gold Coast felt the need to say how much they hated living there. "it's overcrowded and boring" , "nothing to do", "the place is a tropical shithole" "Want to go live in Melbourne" . I found this funny as everyone pays out Adelaide, but I swear to god every person I spoke to didn't have a nice word to say about the place (GC). Interestingly there is not one crane on the gold coast skyline and house prices have faulted majorly.

I found the whole experience quite funny actually, flying back to Adelaide with 16 cranes and a hive of activity.

Nothing we want to get rid of?

This is a forced trade, not a fire sale. Throwing away something we'd be better off keeping for next season to get a shiny number is just silly.
 
Okay, I'm finally willing to say that I think AFGM is wrong, and this has been a beautiful mix of bluffing and guesswork.

Tippett has not signed an agreement with GCS in the preseason window, as you claimed. That's now clear.

I think there are a few things we can safely assume.

GCS have been speaking to his management for three years. Sydney, if they're putting forward an offer, would have been speaking to Blucher for four months. You can see that in their track record.

So, it is almost impossible that he doesn't know what he wants to do. And there is no downside in announcing GCS.

So what's the delay?

I think it's because it's Sydney that he's said yes to, and he is having a bout of the Dwight Howard's about how to announce it publicly.

When I type in a sentence "this is A F L footy"

but with the capital letters together with no space, it posts as

'you know nothing about footy footy'.....WTF???? can someone please try to type, and then post,

the - this is A F L footy - part, but with no spaces between the A F and L and see if they get the

same thing happening.

Hey this is for real...not joking

....or has someone else experienced this and I just haven't heard of it yet???

Whatever his price GC will also have to pay and if their offer was that high he would have signed by now

If Tippett really does want to go to the Gold Coast then his manager (who does seem a right tosser) has given him some terrible advice. If he had just fronted up to his teammates last week and told them that he wanted to go home then told the media where he was going and thanked Adelaide then he would have still had everyones respect and the club would have felt honour bound to respect their handshake agreement and facilitate a transfer home. Instead now he has a whole team that he has fought with for the last 6 years hating him, he has a war coming to get where he wants to and the price has been driven up so much that Gold Coast might pull out. On top of that the whole footy world think he is just after the money and are losing respect for him.

From our point of view I still think that we should be after Crouch's brother and think it should be possible now. We surely can't take a risk on a kid that has already had LARS at 17 (Menzel) no matter how talented (imagine this board if he went down in his first year) and while I do rate Toumpas I just can't see him as a top 4. Also think we should use the extra cap space to get Gumbleton. His potential upside is huge and plenty of big guys have injury problems that they overcome in their mid twentys. It would have been easy for the Australian selectors to write off Watson 3 years ago after the 10th time he broke down but the risk has certainly paid off there.
 
It is pretty clear, either Tippet is a massive w***er, or his manager is.

If his manager had any idea what he was doing, he would have clearly understood the buy up between Brisbane and GC was always going to give Kurt the optimum return and involving Sydney and Melbourne Clubs just makes Tippet look like a tosser AND will not put extra focus and attention on Tippet to perform.

Peter Blucher was Fevola's manager, maybe still is. Expect to see Kurt dancing on TV anytime soon.

Maybe some sort of tautology filter? i.e. AFL = footy, so A F L footy is essentially AFL AFL or footy footy, so bigfooty is just being a super smart arse...

EDIT: it only works for that sentence, not if you just type AFL footy....strange stuff.

Plenty of high draft picks make an impact in their first season and even if they didn't, if we got a gun that played for another ten years who cares?

As for the trade, Tippett and our first pick might get it done.
