Is there now just a lazy chance he will change his mind and stay. This whole process has been botcehd so badly he may want to cut his losses and do an O'Keefe. Stranger things have happened. Would we even want him if he said that? Pie in the sky probably.

No way in hell that will happen. He has burnt his bridges not only with the club but the players as well.

Peter Blucher was Fevola's manager, maybe still is. Expect to see Kurt dancing on TV anytime soon.
Could be the 1st dancer to knock himself out!

I know the Swans have some sort of allowance to their salary cap, but how on earth can they splash $1 million on a player a day after winning the flag!? That seems super dodgy to me.

They might have some retirements this year or maybe they're planning on trading out some money i.e. Heath Grundy.

It is pretty clear, either Tippet is a massive Moo, or his manager is.

If his manager had any idea what he was doing, he would have clearly understood the buy up between Brisbane and GC was always going to give Kurt the optimum return and involving Sydney and Melbourne Clubs just makes Tippet look like a tosser AND will not put extra focus and attention on Tippet to perform.

Unless GC and Brisbane have decided they aren't going to throw mega bucks at him... Just because they want him home, doesn't mean they'll pay whatever he asks - obviously his Manager thought that was the case... Looks like it could've been a massive miscalculation by his Manager here.

Agreed, but a manager worth his salt would have had a better idea.

According to THE AGE, Crows will get a return for Tippett. In other words, he can't just walk to the Gold Coast in the PSD. GWS can pick him up with their PSD pick 1. Of course, GWS won't pick him up if his price is too high, so the threat of getting zero return is still there. A trade will get done, though.

Well that answers my question from the other day regarding if the rule still applied to GWS this year that they can't pick up another Crow in the PSD because they took Davis.. So if he does go into the PSD, they can take Tippett like any other normal year.. But we won't receive anything for it.. At least it's enough to make GC play fair ;)

As far as I was aware, the Swans have a 7% cost-of-living allowance on top of the standard salary cap. The standard cap is $9,139,000 for 2013. Their cap will be $9,779,000 ($640,000 more than us).

Rowey/Cornes/Matthews were saying it was 15% on 5AA last night, but I don't think that's right. Does anyone know for sure? Any Swans supporters out there?

Caps for 2013
GWS $10,139,000
Sydney $9,779,000
GC $9,739,000
The Rest $9,139,000

It's seriously a joke that Sydney have this advantage.

It's a 7% difference, which is probably comparable to the increase cost of living from Adelaide to Sydney. I'd suggest Melbourne teams would be most dissadvantaged by it. Not the teams like Carlton and Colingwood who have sponsor companies 'assist' players, but the small teams like North.

At the end of the day, I doubt anybody on a senior list in the AFL is struggling to get by. All the younger guys seem to live 2 or 3 players to a house anyway.

I'm not exactly sure how Sydney's Cost of Living allowance works, but if it's not already, it should be spread out evenly across the entire list, and not able to be used in one heap to attract another star player.

A good idea.

Have everyone on the same Cap, and the AFL to distribute 'cost of living' bonuses to those who are in need.

BUT, that wouldn't help in th eAFL's 'grow the game in NSW and QLD' policy.

WTF ????

When I type in a sentence "this is A F L footy"

but with the capital letters together with no space, it posts as

'you know nothing about footy footy'.....WTF???? can someone please try to type, and then post,

the - this is A F L footy - part, but with no spaces between the A F and L and see if they get the

same thing happening.

Hey this is for real...not joking

....or has someone else experienced this and I just haven't heard of it yet???

S T R A N G E !!
lol check my sig. As Elvis said, Chief just censors a competing forum's name.

Also while I'm here I'll add that Tippett is now officially the biggest douche in the universe. I think the Caddy compo is the best we can hope for.

Well I think most people here were correct in their pre finals assessment that he is a selfish narcisst of the highest order.

In terms of a trade I m surprised to see people wipe off Sydney and the likes of heath grundy making up part of a trade. Heath is a quality kpd and would suit our needs perfectly. Our time is now and we need to shore up some deficiencies for a flag tilt next year. Heath fits this bill perfectly and would slot straight into our side.

A top 10 draft pick as well would keep one eye on the future, but as Wayne says we need a kpp for the now. Heath is a quality , 1st choice kpd, is 25 just over 100 games. Would be perfect for us imo.

Caddy to Melbourne.
Tippett to GC.

#4 to us?

Or Bulldogs and #6?

Faith - Toumpas is rated as one of the best, if not the best, mids in the draft, isn't he?

If you can get the Dogs or Demons to give up one of those picks for Caddy, then it would be a great deal for both us and the crows :thumbsu:

However I don't promise we wont grab Toumpas with the no2 pick ;)

Even if there was a "Gentleman's Agreement" to trade Tippett to Gold Coast, I think he pretty much pissed on it with the way he and his management have handled this whole thing.

I have been saying it for years but Adelaide need to make a tough stand once and this sort of shit would not be happening so often.

Agreed, this has been handled very poorly by his managment, although it may be true as some have stated at your club that Kurt is incapable of making any decisons

Hey Wayno, how can we walk away from a "gentleman's agreement" that you have assured me on numerous occasions never existed?

We might all know how all this ends but clearly Blucher has read one too many Agatha Christie novels.

I was wondering when you would bring this up AFGM :D , I wonder if the media has called him on his BS yet, only a matter of time. HUGE slip of the tongue.

Heath Grundy is 26 already (born 2 June 1986). Not a huge difference, but just get some facts straight.

It's some sort if "living in Sydney" allowance. I don't see how they should be able to use it to buy extra marquee players, though

I understand that we're unlikely to get pick 2 for Tippett... but what would it take to get pick 2? How far off it would we be? What if we chucked in our first round pick?

What would it take to get that pick? Or a similarly low pick from another club? We need to investigate it.

Only my opinion but a strong mature inside mid, 23-25 yo I would think, not flashy but able to extract the ball to the likes of Ablett, Bennell, Swallow and O'Meara (I get a stirring in my neather regions when I put those 4 names together :D) not sure who you have that would fit the mold?

WTF is this??

Serioulsy...death threat???
