Roughie didn't look right during the finals - was this form, injury or not happy with Clarkson. Worth enquiring, because Hawks may be looking to use Bailey/Hale as ruck/forwards around Buddy & Gunstan.. & may be looking to strengthen their backline.

I feel by the time finals came around, his body was ready for a break. He didn't have a pre season due to his achilles tendon injury in 2011 and I think physically he'd had enough.

Give him a pre season and he will be fine. He was moving fine but couldn't sustain it for long periods of time.

He can play both ends so that is a bonus if any of Shaw/Hendo/LT or Otten command that third KPD role.

Hawthorn offered us Roughead for pick 10 many moons ago..

The only way Roughead would possibly consider leaving Hawthorn is being annoyed at how poor his financial situation is compared to Tippett's. And as he plays for Hawthorn, who never seem to have salary cap issues, that would be unlikely.

If a deal looked likely with Roughead, I would get the worlds best doctors to check him out.... Hawthorn are the masters of unloading damaged goods... That achilles? He is a big lad.. I worry about his pace as he gets older

I can see it now; after a year of being hassled by the media Franklin decides to return home to get away from it all, but ends up in SA with the highest bidder. Sounds eerily familiar somehow.

Lets grab Lachie Hanson (apparently on the trade table as they cannot agree on a new contract) & Gumbleton
Surely 1 of them would turn out alright and fill one of our Key position
they will come cheap too...prob a 2nd or 3rd round will do the job.
If we somehow grab gibbs from the tippett trade ( I really cant see it happening but just dreaming)
we will have the 1st 3 picks from the 2006 draft which was supposed to be a super draft!

Haven't seen to much of Bootsma, but what I have seen has been good, plus he was drafted with big wraps wasn't he? Plus Carlton's first pick is better than Sydney's.
This whole thing is moot, because Tippett won't end up in Melbourne at all.
