Typical from you. Club can do no wrong in your eyes. Unlike you some of put in a lot of money to see this club play.

I don't ask much from the Crows. I don't ask or expect to go into the club rooms, mingle with the players, go to club functions or any of that - I go to home games, support the players on the field and then go home.

The only thing I ask of them is to do their best on and off the field and not accept mediocrity by accepting second best.

If they accept Jessie White and pick 22 is not doing their best. I will continue to pay our membership fees each year and continue to support them at every home and away game as I can but slowly, the crap they dish out (administration) is starting to become too much too take and is starting to be a negative influence to the on field performances.

This is just another example of me as a supporter feeling as if they are just taking my money for granted that we will pay up year after year.

Having a big laugh @ every comment eluding to "other clubs will just fleece us for our star players in the future because we couldnt get a fair trade for Tippett".

News flash. In these circumstances, no club would get a fair deal for Tippett. And last time I checked, Tippett wanted to leave. The notion that other clubs will just pillage our other star players in the future might be difficult if those players dont want to leave.

Pick 6. He then went on to play 118 games for the Crows, leading our ruck division for 7 years. Well and truly worth it, every single day of the week. If all you look at is pick #6 and say - gee, we paid too much, then that's just poor thinking. You need to look at what we got out of it - and 118 games is more than enough to justify using that pick.

No way on earth he belongs on that list of shameful trades and overpayments.
Couldn't agree more... don't forget he won Brisbane's B&F in 1997... no Dean Cox, but a fine ruckman.

I won't bother with reciting what everyone has already covered but looking at the bigger picture it seems to me as though the AFC and the Swans have arrived to the same BYO party, and whilst we bought in a triple layer mud cake (stuffed with actual sh*t), they only brought scraps and a mystery ingredient.

I know if I were in the same situation I'd throw the cake into the fan and see who ever it lands on, even if it was the club that brought the scraps (keep it for all I care) but potentially seeing that cake land on someone else's lap? Priceless.

Whatever eventuates, just remember we aren't the ones left with the sh*t filled cake to deal with.

P.S No drugs were involved in this post.
P.S.S White looks like a musketeer.

Back to all doom and gloom based on nothing other than the same speculation the media have been publishing since day 1 of trade period

Please, please....please point me in a direction where I can gain some positivity from this trade?

You can say it will work out, you can say don't be negative but you can not point me in a direction where it suggest we will gain evens.

Please direct me to this place? I'd love to feel as if we're going to gain evens but no where can I see it.

And we are rolling over and taking it

Yep.

The only thing the AFL responds to is public pressure; being made to look foolish, weak or inept in public.

We should be on the front food, in the media, demanding that the AFL get involved here.

We have two Clubs in the same City, willing to pay the same money; one has put #3 on the table, one has put #22 on the table and refuses to even considering adding anything of value to that pathetic offer.

It's absolute bullshit, we need to be publically shaming the AFL and demanding they become involve to sort it out.

I fully respect us trying to do the right thing, and have a polite, professional relationship with the AFL - BUT IT DOES NOT WORK!!

We got ****ed over brutally with the Bock compensation, we got ripped off with the Davis compensation; we bent over and screwed Rendell at the AFL's instruction - where is the pay-off to actually thank us for being compliant?

It doesn't happen; in this League, you aren't rewarded for being a 'good citizen' - you're trampled all over.

We've got to stop being the one who gets done over, and start being the one who does everybody else over.

Emailed Harper, Trigg, Chapman, Smart, Noble and Sanderson in recent hours. Awaiting response...all standard email formats exept for Smart whose email has bounced back

Suggest others get in ASAP if wanting to make a point

Post the emails mate.

This has probably been asked and answered before - but if we let him go into the PS Draft, and he nominates his salary, is it the case that he will probably end up at Sydney anyway?

I just keep getting a sinking feeling......

Are we trading McKernan? Would have thought that he would have a higher ceiling for improvement.

Hopefully the minor details include getting us some picks we could use.
With White now allegedly set to occupy a position on our team list we're down to just 2 vacancies. If we were to get picks beyond #23, then our only use for them would be to trade them in the hope of upgrading #23 into the top-20.

That said, I would hope that Noble forces Sydney to give us their 2nd & 3rd picks as compensation for taking White off their books - and makes Sydney pay his entire salary for the (hopefully short) duration of his stay on our team list. Not holding my breath in anticipation of either event happening though.

Probably not. Would probably end up at GWS, or failing that, Carlton. Both have the desire and the room to fit him under their salary cap.

Morning guys.

So I arrive in at work and check the morning papers to see Jesse White is flying to Adelaide to have a medical, I am assuming that you have now burned down Crows headquarters (and rightly so) and just want to know where to send the care package.

if this is correct and your leaders have folded

Have they?

I've been following lots of different pro sports (including AFL) for an undisclosed amount of time, and know enough to expect that when a star player behaves like Tippett, they generally get their way, and the club they leave gets screwed. Having said that, any eventual deal is defined by what the club (in this case, Adelaide) does with what they receive from that deal.

I believe we can either use picks 19 and 23 to trade in a player-type we require, or to move up the draft board into the top 12. We only have space for 2 or 3 more players on the list anyway, so I believe having 2 relatively good picks close together can be used to Adelaide's advantage.

What some Adelaide supporters need to realise, is that the club was always on the backfoot from a value point of veiw based on the way Tippett's team has manipulated the situation. What they also need to realise is that yes, Tippett for pick 23 and Jesse White is an ordinary deal, but only if thats where the club leaves it. Judge the deal at the end of trade week, because there's a fair chance that the AFC will actually get something of value out of this whole process.
"Something of value" isn't good enough though - by a long way. Kurt was our highest paid. He will be Sydneys highest paid. He is the 2nd best contested mark in the competition and probably the best forward/2nd ruck man going around. I dont want something pissy here which pick 23 is. A top 10 draft pick is the minimum. GWS have said they would offer a hig pick for him. Brad Ottens nominated Cats a few years ago and the Tiges got 2 x top 14 odd draft picks from memory.

Sydney, a major competitor of ours for next years flag, is bending us over and we need to get ruthless and either do a Veale deal or let him go into the PSD for the long term benefit of our club
