Not when it comes to high profile players that have put a price on their head. The weight of evidence despite Vaders opinion suggests Sydney would have picked him up in the PSD.
Exactly. Like it or not, Tippett is playing for Sydney next year. It would be great if he'd said "I'll play for anyone who'll pay me my asking price", but he hasnt.

I'm all for getting something for him, rather than letting him walk to Sydney for free. Given the fact we're 'looking' at accepting a sh-t deal makes me think the AFC also wants to get something rather than nothing. A better deal wouldve been struck by now if there was another team who genuinely believed they'd have Kurt Tippett in 2013

The ramifications for a club to draft a bloke against his will and make him one of their highest paid players would be far reaching and I really cant see why a club would do it. Would you want your club to do it?

I wouldn't want the Crows to do it because we are too nice. A hard nosed coach with Admin support could do it MM and KS come to mind.

I'll repeat myself, it's all well and good to demand Sydney give us a better deal by trading one of their better players to say GWS but if the player doesn't want to leave then he doesn't. Sydney can't force anyone of value out the door if they don't want to go and why if you were a Sydney top 22 would you want to go?

If we force KT to the PSD then it is possible that Sydney still get him as other clubs with higher picks are unlikely to draft a highly priced four year contract player that doesn't want to play for them AND one that has a history of potentially career ending concussions. Again, ask yourself why is KT leaving us? He was a reluctant signer of a new contract in 2009 after all.

So we make a stand and KT ends up at Sydney anyway and they not us use pick 23 at this years National Draft. It's a risk and cost the AFC may not want to take. That's why we may find ourselves spewing over this deal when it gets announced in the next few days.

So no point calling for Sydney to up their offer, they can't, and you are being simple minded if you think they can. The AFC accept that reality and now have to decide on taking the offer or gambling on the PSD.

A lot of that is way too rationale for a lot of people on this board buddy.

Can't get blood from a stone.

I am of the opinion send him to the PSD but its 90% likely Syd will get him there for nothing anyway, so we will look like gooses then too.

AFC are damned if they do damned if they don't.

Answer my question.....how many times has this happened to collingwood?
I genuinely dont know the history of Collingwood player movement. I see what you're saying, but if you think for a second that a deal involving Tippett to Sydney is the end of the line, you need to expand your horizons.

You'd be very surprised to hear the answer after player have been asked to be traded. They will say yes and they will come to the realization that they are not wanted. As soon as a player understands they are not wanted, they will see the writing on the wall that they are getting phased out of the best 22.

I'd be very surprised if Sydney have even made the suggestion to any players as they know the answer. For Tippett to come in, someone will have to come out and Jessie White only played 2 or 3 games last year so it's not going to be him.

There needs to be a protest in my opinion, out the front of the offices at West Lakes. Public $Kurt Tippett guernsey burnings, "**** him off to the PSD" signs, "Adelaide = butter" etc
Seriously? Hmmm...

The player getting traded, in this case Tippett, must sign off on the deal.
The obvious solution, whether on a purely bluffing manner or otherwise, is to get in discussions with GWS, suss out how keen they are, and if they'll take him in the PSD. At the VERY least, it scares the Swans and Tippett.

Should they genuinely be keen, and closing in on the deadline (Wednesday odd) Tippett is still being a knob end, then we discuss letting him through to the PSD with GWS and say "look, we don't really want pick 22 and rubbish, he's playing hard ball and won't come to you guys willingly, what's it worth to you chaps to let him slide to the PSD?"

GWS then say look, he basically just wants to live in QLD or NSW on big coin and only prefers Sydney because they're sucessful, he'll get over it soon and will be great cover for young Patto and Cameron and provide perfect ruck relief for Giles."

OK, hows about we give you pick 12 and 13, you give us 19 and Tambling on the condition you pay out Tamblings contract"

Easy peezy, we've got plenty of room in the cap.

Can you imagine the poo'd pants of Tippett, Blutcher and Sydney reps is a deal between us and GWS mainly involving picks went down.......would fap

Not the end of the line, but the start of a slippery slope of creating a rod for our own backs.

So the story is Jessie White is flying to Adel today to meet coach Sando

Hasn't Jessie White been in Adelaide over the past fortnight with his Adel born GF?

Could it possibly be Chinese whispers?

The club being too emotional has caused this issue and the reason they get emotional is becuase the fans demand it, when they should be calculatin. If we wouldn't have dropped him just for leaving thenTippet would have felt comfortable telling us he was leaving sooner and we could have set things in motion, but the fans demand blood at every perceived slight. Unfortunately the powers that be also continue to use emotive language and behaviour which is to our detriment.

Can you explain how Sydney or any other club get him for FREE via the draft? There is a lot of misunderstanding on this board on how the draft works. No club gets any player for free, each player taken via a draft cost a draft pick. So if Sydney were to take Tippet in the PSD it would cost them the same pick 23 that is being talked about as being on traded to us.
No. What is being talked about here is pick #23 in the National Draft, not the PSD. Big difference.

something like this would be happening - if GWS is willing to commit to taking Tippett in the PSD. if they really wanted him, don't you think they'd be hatching something with the Crows right now?
