You can see what sort of disillusion it would cause when genuine long time respected posters like Stiffy, STO and Rave Slave would question things come membership renewal time.
Yep, and I can fully understand why any supporter who wasnt a fan of the way the club has handled this would question their membership. I cant help but think you mentioned 'long time respected posters' because of my only being a posting member for 24 hours, like Big Footy membership has any sort of relevance. If I'm wrong, my bad. If I'm right though, turn it up...

Tom Rehn works for C9, Foxsports and FiveAA.

Will be Rooch's replacement as main Footy Media guy in Adelaide once Rooch leaves.

Weird looking unit too. He looks like a Minecraft version of a jockey.

(We need another diversion but without yesterday's PC/mental health debacle).

So what, you expect them to say at the presser "look, we aren't happy with the outcome, we obviously would have preferred both a better pick and player, but we felt it better to end up with something rather than nothing".
I expect them to say at the presser "Sydney could not offer us any value for Kurt, and we will force him to the PSD, and/or field other offers." If this doesn't occur, they can spin it all they want, but they have still failed.

Speak of the devil....

Former Port Adelaide midfielder Nick Stevens has warned Kurt Tippett that switching clubs could be one of his biggest regrets.
As Tippett risks being sent to this year's pre-season draft, Stevens made the shock revelation that he wouldn't have left Port in 2003 had he known the extent of Carlton's then poor financial state.

Unlike the Blues a decade ago, the Swans are currently in a healthy position but Stevens still senses Tippett could be making a mistake.
"For me, personally, I see it as a bizarre move to leave such a great side," he said.
"It might not turn out for him but that's obviously his call and he wants to go for some reason, I'm not sure why.
"But from an outsider looking in to Adelaide, they've had a fantastic year and there's some pretty exciting times ahead.
"Sando's (Crows coach Brenton Sanderson) been just an unbelievable coach for someone in his first year."
Stevens was forced to wait until the 2004 pre-season draft, where he was selected at pick No.2 by Carlton, after Port and his club of choice - Collingwood - were unable to strike a deal in trade week.
At the time, the Victorian insisted he was heading home for "family reasons", something Queenslander Tippett can no longer claim.
"His situation is a bit different because he's chosen to go to Sydney, so that's not returning home," he said.

That was posted about 5 pages ago! ;)

He has to agree to go and needs to be done B4 draft, during trade week I think.
No he doesnt.

If he goes into the PSD (as in we say stuff your trade to sydney up your arse) then he is anyones who agrees to his contract demands who wants to take him

I expect them to say at the presser "Sydney could not offer us any value for Kurt, and we will force him to the PSD, and/or field other offers." If this doesn't occur, they can spin it all they want, but they have still failed.

I too would like to hear that - but I would HATE for them to say something like I said with the kid sitting along side them. "Welcome to AFC young lad, you'll be the most despised recruit EVER. Enjoy!".

The club will never fail in Jenny's eyes.

No that's not true. I've seen them make mistakes. Nobody is infallible. The difference is, I will always support the Club DESPITE their mistakes.

Considering that the deal is actually worse with White included.. I would expect them to justify his inclusion in the deal, or seriously consider handing in their resignations.

The phrase that keeps going through my head is "this can't be happening..." I've reserved judgement until now, not wanting to jump the gun, but holy shit. This just can't be happening..

The difference between Tippett, and an 18yr old going into the draft, is a nominated salary, and NOTHING more.

Many kids would prefer to stay in their state or be drafted by the club they love but it doesn't work that way, and Tippett has no more say in who drafts him than the kids do.

From a club point of view I would have thought the whole principle of the draft was to assess your needs and then draft the next best player available, and it would be acting against the interests of the club to do anything else.

If Tippett ends up in the draft I wouldn't be at all suprised if Sheedy calls a press conference and says, "I understand Kurt had a prefered club but he didn't get traded and this is the draft. Kurt is a great marking player that will be an asset to our young side, and I fully intend to pick him up." It would be AMAZING press and marketing for GWS. Vlad would love it.

And once Sheeds (or any other coach with a pick before Sydney) injects a healthy does of reality into Kurts deluded head he'll play footy with them and be well paid for the next two years, at which time he WILL be a free agent and Kurt and his dickhead manager can give their bullshit games another go.
Yeah good post but he won't ever be a free agent now will he? It's continous service at ONE club from my understanding

Is it worse because he takes up a spot? Or because of the sort of player he is - bearing in mind I know NOTHING about him other than what I've read in here. It's hard to know what is accurate given that half the posts in here also call Tippett a hack.

No difference to any of us Jen, so what's the critical detail that you're missing here?
