I'm staggered that some of you are defending the clubs actions. If we accept White and 22 for Tippett it's literally indefensible.

Nobody's defending that. It's blue murder. We just love the idea of ripping another club off to the same degree - thereby evening up our losses.

If we come out of this as:
GAIN: 23, 11, White
LOSE: Tippett, McKernan

Then we're probably not too badly off. McKernan vs White is a case of spud with upside vs spud without upside. The only way we could lose is if McKernan suddenly decides to grow a pair under Malthouse's tutelage.

I'm with you. I admired Port when they let Nick Stephens go into the PSD. I don't think they would have got 2 first rounders for Burgyone had they not made the stance several years earlier. It would also send a message to any future Tippetts in our team that they don't get to call all the shots if they decide they want to screw us over.

White suffers from below average work ethic, both on training track and in games .....but he does have height, skill, and speed ....all well if you use your god given gift

Could White be converted into a CHB ...and is that a role they may be grooming him for rather than as a forward??

Yes it does.

There is something deeper in the depth of Kurt Tippett contract that we have not been told about. The club dropped the ball on this and need to make the announcement so we can move on.

Make sure whoever was involved in that contract has to be move on or fired and that never done again.

Any player who holds us to that sort of ransom needs to be traded automatically.

He was offered up in the Crazy Voss fire sale, as part of Brisbane's original trade proposal for Fevola. He walked out on the club 12 months later, having pretty much negotiated a deal with Sydney that nobody else was stupid enough to match.

But will have to feel sorry for White .....the guy has no hope IMO , coming of the back of 2 ordinary seasons and coming into fishbowl Adelaide with an already loathing supporter base

How can he turn his career around when he'll already be the most disliked player on our list ......it's just the way it'll be. If i was Whites Manager i would be advising him to stay away from the Tippett trade

That makes it a whole lot less appealing. It makes sense, in that the McKernan side of the deal becomes fair. But then we're no longer able to balance a highway robbery in our favour vs a highway robbery against us. Instead of breaking even, we still end up miles behind.

Re Mckernan my mail mid season was that he was really homesick and regretting that he signed a contract extension

If this is true let's learn from the Yippett saga and trade him when his is contracted and has more currency otherwise next year we could be facing the sane Tippett issue

Thanks for that info, i was having those thoughts but good to see some insight.

Look i like him and think he has great potential, however if we are going to roast the club over tippett (which we should) then we cant criticise if they are tackling this issue head on by pre empting yet another potential walk out. If he is unsettled then ship him out and deal now while we can. Pick 11 is a decent return, we still have JJ, LJ and............ahem...White.

Why do you favour being spineless?

If you read my earlier post you will see that I also favour the PSD. However, I don't think that its an issue where you can go nuts if the other option is taken. The proof of the pudding will be when the shoe is on the other foot. We then must take the same approach as Sydney has here.
