Yes it does.

There is something deeper in the depth of Kurt Tippett contract that we have not been told about. The club dropped the ball on this and need to make the announcement so we can move on.

This is all I can imagine is happening but the club has repeatedly said this is not the case and Afrian Anderson said the AFL would not ratify a contract with the sort of clause that has been mentioned.

Shit ten more pages of brain explosions since I last checked in and still all based on rumor

Re Mckernan my mail mid season was that he was really homesick and regretting that he signed a contract extension

If this is true let's learn from the Yippett saga and trade him when his is contracted and has more currency otherwise next year we could be facing the sane Tippett issue

Really sick of this jargon being use .......bet he wouldn't be homesick if he'd been playing in the Crows side

Tippett was supposedly homesick .....yeah sure

That said if we trade McKernan ......i will seriously be mad

Why do people say that it's nothing if he goes into the PSD? Do you think our reputation for hard bargaining is worth nothing? do you think Sydney will fit Tippett in as easily if they are carrying White's player payments? Do you think that Tippett can put such a high price on head that only Sydney can afford him in the PSD given the fact that Andrew Ireland has already said Sydney will be paying him less than Adelaide offered next year?

If the people negotiating these deals have a similar short sighted view of trading as you're expressing then I think that explains the constant reaming we have received and will continue to receive.

Sydney must believe all what you say in the first para otherwise they would offer something more. Feeling good about yourself isn't really much of a gain. What does a reputation for hard bargaining get you in reality? Each deal is speperate and is based on the complicated trading landscape brought about by national draft, pre-season drafts, free agency and salary cap concessions.

The whole deal will damage Adelaide's ability to negotiate and retain players for as long as we have the same people representing us in trade week. We are;

= Accepting significantly less for a player than they are worth
- providing ateam that we will compete against for top 4 with a big leg up
- Giving Sydney salary cap relief by taking a contracted player
- Failing to follow through on the threat to send Tippett to the draft hence making any future threats weaker
- Setting ourselves up for poaching by any club in the future where a player just refuses to go anywhere else

A friend at work who is a Collingwood supporter said that he would expect Collingwood to approach the managers of each top tier Crows' player as they came out of contract to try and negotiate a similar agreement from now on in. We will now have a reputation of weakness and softness. This has long term implications for our football team and is clearly against the wishes of the vast majority of supporters. Personally, I am starting to feel embarrassed about being a member of an organisation which demonstrates these characteristics.

This is the bigger picture that some people are failing to see,

Our ability to minimise future poaching lies with how we handle this trade. If we continue to be weak traders we'll be the first club that our rival clubs will seek out to poach players from as they know they can get the player they want for well under market value.

Could White be converted into a CHB ...and is that a role they may be grooming him for rather than as a forward??
(just looking for some, any positives in this)

When White was first drafted to the Swans he was first trained and played as a defender, He wasn't that bad actually... It was just when we tried him up forward in a reserves match and he kicked 7 goals that our plans were changed.

And it is a role that we have actively spoken about him trying on the Swan's board, And something I think his athleticism would be better suited for (You would need to work on his concentration though).

It appears as if your club has been really harshly done by over the last few years (And I doubt you will find any true AFL fan who doesn't agree with that), But look at your recent recruitment and drafting... It has really been second to none. Knowing your recruitment team I am expecting you to really pull out a gem at 22 or 23 (whatever the pick is).

I really hope you make something out of Johnston and White, Both players really have the potential in spades.

The club will never, ever admit it. If the truth gets out, it will end up being a public relation nightmare for the club and it will never get out because there are still people involved with that contract at the club.

Saying that, it was never written in to his contract, that';s why the AFL knew nothing about it.

That's why the handshake agreement came out. It was always a gentlemen agreement written on a blank piece of paper signed by the parties involved.

Well even Roo is ropeable at the deal, so at worst the AFC can't spin a positive out of this.

I hope they come and and debunk this.
The most infuriating thing of the whole Tippett Saga will be ....IF the Crows try any sort of "spin" on an angry supporter base

The reason we are getting White is so we can trade McKernan.

We are going to sacrifice Smack for a first round pick to spin the Tippett trade as 'getting' us 2 first round picks. 22 + White > who replaces Mckernan > who gets us a first round pick (Carlton or Collingwood)

This is a disgrace!!! Mckernan will live up to his potential in Melbourne and White will go on to be delisted. Far better to just Kurt go in the PSD. There is simply no reason to pick up White unless we are going to trade Mckernan or Jenkins and no way would we trade Jenkins. This just gets worse by the day.

Man, if we could get a first round pick for McKernan I'd absolutely take it and run. Assuming it's a decent first round pick, say around 12 or so. Actually I'd pretty much take any first round pick for him. I just don't see what everyone else seems to with McKernan.

It wouldn't make up for losing Tippett for practically nothing, but it would still be an enormous win in my book :thumbsu:

Also, even though we have been going nuts about this trade, since what feels like forever (12 Days) there is one home truth.
As of yet we haven't traded him, If the initial offer was just 22, we stared them down, they coughed something else up. We haven't blinked IMO, that means we haven't screwed the pooch yet....yet.

Sydney need White off the books to fit Tippett in. There's more to this.
Agreed, by allowing them to fit Tippett in by accepting white they may be seeking something better to offer us as part of the package.

I am leaning very strongly towards a underhanded deal is in place.

If this is the case, I just hope they come out and admit it and say such deals will never ever happen again.

They will, it'll be "we can get a really good young player with the draft pick" and "White hasn't had an opportunity to prove how good he can be, has all the physical assets" etc.

He was offered up in the Crazy Voss fire sale, as part of Brisbane's original trade proposal for Fevola. He walked out on the club 12 months later, having pretty much negotiated a deal with Sydney that nobody else was stupid enough to match.
You're correct about Bradshaw walking out after being shopped around by Vossie, but he actually quit the Lions almost immediately afterwards and the Swans picked him up the in 2009 pre-season draft:

That HAS to be the most ridiculous thing Ive ever heard. If it isn't a signed, written agreement, it isn't anything.

This is my read on the Tippett trade situation & I must be on a different frig'n planet then most

1. Yes we are prepared to accept White as the steak knives
2. No we are not prepared to accept pick 22, we want a higher pick

Jessie White is not the centre piece of this deal the draft picks are and people need to hold fire until we have the official deal in black and white

Re Smack I was told by someone at the SAFC earlier in the year that Smack was homesick and had 2nd thoughts about signing his contract extention

If true trade him now while he is under contract

First round pick not bad considering where he was drafted and the little impact he has had thus far

I have no doubt Smack has some match winning games in him; however unfortunately being such a introvert & confidence player I also believe that throughout his career he will also have very very poor games in him

LOL - yep, as if on clock work, Jenny comes to Mr Trigg defense

Read what you just wrote. "It's a "gentleman's agreement" on a blank piece of paper." Seriously, you can't be that silly to believe that. It wouldn't stand up in my kitchen let alone in a court of law.

To be fair to Jen, Reid handled the contracts back in '09 not Triggy.

CEO, Football manager and the club board would have all had to sign off on it.

This deal would not have only involved one single person - there is a club hierarchy that everyone must follow.

^this is the only part left in this whole Kurt Muppet Scenario that still gives me a little bit of hope. Waiting till trading can become the real deal on Monday to see what draft pick Sydney can come up with that isn't pick 22.

I still have complete faith in the Crows. Cause i mean it's either this or start supporting Port.

Just saw Foxsports News and they showed Jesse White walking in to West Lakes, I felt sick in the stomach. Heads need to roll, we have said that we will put him in the PSD. Do it, he will not last until Sydney. GWS or Carlton will pick him up!
So there's now actual footage of White going into Crows HQ? Could it have been some other spindly long faced fellow with shit tats?

I'm trying really hard to not believe.
