Hmmm.

Much like The Castle was centred on the phrase "on just terms", this dispute may well centre on the definition of "home".

I believe there was an agreement but Tippett shunning QLD for $$$ changed all that, or so it seems. I wonder if Trigg received advice and finally made the call that the legal argument may stand in our favour, hence pulling the White deal off the table.

Fortunately for us, Tippett defined where home was in his stupid video message to supporters last time around.

It's all supposition but if this is about the 'Agreement', we should never have been in this position.

Yeah, but sometimes you do whatever you need to get it over the line and worry about tomorrow later.

Tomorrow came, and we are happy to deal with QLD, it gave us a lil wiggle room. With KT picking the spondoolos we had to press the hardass button.

So sydney do need to offload whites salary to fit muppet, so we won't take on his salary, why should we? They want to pay him that much, it's not up to us to subsidise it, we would be stupid to.

DRAFT UPDATE FOR DICKHEADS
We've been led by the nose by Ti$$ues Tippett to Sydney coz he's money hungry and 'homesick'o_O
Sydney pulled our pants down to our ankles by saying 'no premiership player will be part of the trade'o_O
Meanwhile Dimwitriou is playing voyeur wondering whether the Swans have too many pr0n-chips:rolleyes:
We pulled them back up again by drafting another second string player whose heavier & tallero_O...CHECK
Sydney pull them them back down again and bend us over the draft table whilst unscrewing the KY Jellyo_O
Lawyers are brought in to enforce Adelaides tenable position:mad:

Get ready...here comes the pineapple:confused:

Didnt port get Hombsch and Neade for pick 29.

So for six picks difference (according to sydney) you can go from top forward in the comp blah blah blah, to prelisted 18 year olds yet to play a game!!?

Jeez thats a steep drop off!

OR PERHAPS SYDNEY NEED TO SNAP BACK TO THE REAL FRICKIN WORLD!

Neither has Grigg or Lyon or Crouch; you'd trade them for bugger all?

Polec is quality, and the same argument we're making about Tippett applies here; you can bundle as much crap up together as you want, but it still wont buy you a diamond.

Not labelling a player this, but a big pile of shit isn't worth much more than a little pile of shit; it's still just a bunch of shit.
Ben Jacobs has shown more than Polec I believe, and Port look like getting a pick in the late 30s for him from NM. Polec may be quality down the track, but unless a club goes chasing him, I can't see how he demands much value on the trade table until he shows a lot more of that potential at AFL level.

They did brilliantly out of that deal.

To be fair to Sydney, it's not as if they have a pick #10 sitting there but they are only offering #23 -
Exactly, which is why I'll give the benefit of the doubt to Sydney until I know whether they are actually suiting out other clubs or not.

"'Hickey, 21, requested a trade to the Saints this month to move closer to his girlfriend but talks stalled last week when the Suns played hard ball, demanding a first-round pick as market interest increased.

The 201cm big man was a zone selection to Gold Coast.
The Saints traded their first pick, No. 12, to GWS in a deal which saw Claremont power forward Tom Lee head to St Kilda"

I just read the above, Adelaide need to walk into Sydney tomorrow ans say this is our final request otherwise he goes in draft, leaving them some time before Friday.

The above shows that we must get a top 5 or at least top ten pick for Tippo. The saint know that with ready proven players they know what they are getting. Draft picks are just a lottery outside the top 5 and way to much value is placed on them. A ready made player is worth its weight in gold thus Sydney bneed to pay up but we mustr leave ourselves a few days rather than let it hang to Friday. Put it on Sydney to make a call tomorrow.

Yeah I wish Tippo good luck if he has called in the Lawyers. Here he is August last year:

"I am contracted to the end of next season and I intend to and expect to play out that contract to the very best of my abilities as I've always tried to do during my time here in Adelaide.

As I've told the Club I'm embarrassed and disappointed by reports, because I believe when you sign a contract you honour that contract.

I'm not going to deny I'm a beach boy at heart, and if you've ever been to the Gold Coast I think you'll know what I'm talking about. I do get home sick at times and at some stage during my life I think I'll return to the Gold Coast, but the Adelaide Crows have been fantastic to me right from the day I was drafted back in 2006, they gave me a chance and have always done the right thing by me, it is certainly my intention that I will do likewise in return".

Reading this, even though he says "some stage in my life" it is clear that he is talking about returning to the Gold Coast after he finishes playing at Adelaide. That is what he is saying, if there is an agreement it would have been done in good faith on the basis that Tippett returns to the Gold Coast, as was clearly his intention in August 2011. If that is what an agreement is based on, then he has tried to change the terms of the agreement after the fact, which you just can't do without the agreement of both parties.

What a flog.

"it is certainly my intention that I will do likewise in return"

Yeah, you sure have done that, haven't you Kurt. Gutted the club who "been fantastic to me right from the day i was drafted" and "they gave me a chance and have always done the right thing by me"

Yeah, good luck with arguing the agreement Tippett.

Wow!

I was going to say earlier Polec's trade value is lower than being discussed. Only reason he'd be worth more is draft positioning (which shouldn't matter) and the fact he's contracted; performance wise they're about even.

Let's not go abusing swans fans for underrating Tippett then go off and tell Brisbane fans they should give up a player they snared at pick 5 only 2 years ago for a bloke we don't want and two worthless picks.

Polec is only 20, is obnoxiously talented and even with his minimal exposure at AFL level I'd still say his value is a top 10 pick minimum. As it stands right now, if someone offered to end this whole ordeal right now and all we would get out of it is Polec I'd take it and run away laughing. Comparing Polec to what we've been offered currently is like comparing French 5 star cuisine to the bin scraps of a dodgy hindley street kebab shop.

They have a full list of players as well.
Not much you can do if none of them want to leave. None of them are obliged to help Adelaide and let themselves be traded.

Adelaide should have told the Swans to get lost as soon as they offered #23 + White, but they've messed around with them for 3 weeks. It ain't gonna change from here, they'll take the offer and probably convince themselves they did a good job.

Problem with this is there ARE Swans players who we DO want that ARE willing to come to our club and Sydney aren't willing to trade them...
