Hmmm.

Much like The Castle was centred on the phrase "on just terms", this dispute may well centre on the definition of "home".

I believe there was an agreement but Tippett shunning QLD for $$$ changed all that, or so it seems. I wonder if Trigg received advice and finally made the call that the legal argument may stand in our favour, hence pulling the White deal off the table.

Fortunately for us, Tippett defined where home was in his stupid video message to supporters last time around.

It's all supposition but if this is about the 'Agreement', we should never have been in this position.

I think Steven has up to his neck in this deal since he has been back. He could be trying to cover his arse or he could be making a stand for the AFC

What is your point? White won't walk out on Sydney though, so Sydney will still have to pay his salary and include it in the 2013 salary cap if they choose to delist him.
I was replying to someone who asked about a player being paid out when a club dropped him. If a club terminates the contract, they pay it out, if a player terminates it, they get no pay.

Crowmo texted me yesterday, saying he'd heard that Tippett's side was calling in lawyers.

We both thought it was bullsh!t, but maybe not ...

Presumably he heard the trail of whatever led to the channel 10 story.

Still yet to see if it's accurate but it would be a very interesting development if it was.

Emma Quayle@emmasq
Gold Coast ruckman Tom Hickey is on his way to St Kilda. For pick 13 and a swap of second and third round picks.

The above trade just made White + 23 look even more of a raping than it already did
Wow. Wow. Wow.

Pick 13 for a developing ruck that's barely played games? What are they on down at St Kilda?

He's formally requested a trade though.

But it would something along the lines as I wish to be traded for more opportunities, but if you can not find me a new club, then I will happily stay at the Swans, so they can not terminate his contract without it being included in the 2013 salary cap

He's formally requested a trade though.

But if they can't find anybody willing to trade for him, do you really think he's going to request that his contract be terminated? I know damn well I'd be hanging around next year and doing what was required to pocket my $300k.

I know!

COME OFF IT...!

Pick 13 for Hickey...?

Geesus... Surely the $wans now realise this is getting ludicrous.

Getting bent over doesn't even begin to describe what is happening to us...

Blucher: but but but we've got a clause

Trigg: Bugger off

Blucher: But Sydney is his spiritual home...

Trigg: Meh, sue me.

Blucher: I'll schedule it for 1.30pm Friday

Trigg: Yeah good luck with that

I wish...

The Saints obviously don't rate this draft as highly as some.
It looks like Swans are the only ones that rate the draft, placing too much value on pick 23

Gold Coast, Melbourne, and St. Kilda are teams that have traded their first round picks without blinking. Collingwood have stashed them to ease up some salary cap pressure.

It looks like some teams tend to rate the draft at the top but its dropping off rapidly after that. It was supposed to be a super draft and is turning out into a super fizzer.

Yeah I wish Tippo good luck if he has called in the Lawyers. Here he is August last year:

"I am contracted to the end of next season and I intend to and expect to play out that contract to the very best of my abilities as I've always tried to do during my time here in Adelaide.

As I've told the Club I'm embarrassed and disappointed by reports, because I believe when you sign a contract you honour that contract.

I'm not going to deny I'm a beach boy at heart, and if you've ever been to the Gold Coast I think you'll know what I'm talking about. I do get home sick at times and at some stage during my life I think I'll return to the Gold Coast, but the Adelaide Crows have been fantastic to me right from the day I was drafted back in 2006, they gave me a chance and have always done the right thing by me, it is certainly my intention that I will do likewise in return".

Reading this, even though he says "some stage in my life" it is clear that he is talking about returning to the Gold Coast after he finishes playing at Adelaide. That is what he is saying, if there is an agreement it would have been done in good faith on the basis that Tippett returns to the Gold Coast, as was clearly his intention in August 2011. If that is what an agreement is based on, then he has tried to change the terms of the agreement after the fact, which you just can't do without the agreement of both parties.

What a flog.

"it is certainly my intention that I will do likewise in return"

"it is certainly my intention that I will do likewise in return"

"it is certainly my intention that I will do likewise in return"

Yeah, you sure have done that, haven't you Kurt. Gutted the club who "been fantastic to me right from the day i was drafted" and "they gave me a chance and have always done the right thing by me"

"they gave me a chance and have always done the right thing by me"

"it is certainly my intention that I will do likewise in return"

Yeah, good luck with arguing the agreement Tippett.

At this point it appears the best way to build a strong list is to automatically give everyone long-term contracts, and then trade anyone who doesn't become a vital player while they're still contracted.
Every club would realise that you were desperate to get players off your books so that you can draft a min 3 players.

Who cares!! More current context for the crows to use against sydney in mediation!!

Sydney - we think pick 23 is fair

Adelaide - for a 200cm top two contested marking forward, who's 25, when I 20 yr old ruckman with a dozen games just went for pick 13?

Mediators - Adelaide have a good point

Everyone looks at Sydney

Sydney - Crickets Chirping............
