Does anybody on this Board think that Tippett will be traded before Friday 2 pm now that the AFL have given the green light for this to happen?

What will Sydney do? Shit themselves because they may have to pay a near commercial price to get him rather than get him for a mediocre draft pick and a player they'd prefer to delist if not contracted? Also Tippett now being a player who might get either deregistered (which I doubt) or suspended for a few matches?

Contracts can be written to accomodate Tippett's penalties so that Sydney wouldn't be disadvantaged. However will they risk the stench surrounding him being bought into their club?

If they don't, does that mean the trigger-happy Tippett group will be threatening Sydney with Supremem Court writs as they did with Adelaide?

Does that mean that Tippett would then be agreeable to go to Brisbane for pick 8 or a Polec if Sydney give him the arse. or would Brisbane gamble that Tippett could slide past GWs and they might get him for nothing? I doubt it as I'm sure that GWS would snaffle him up for a zero cost.

Originally I wanted Tippett to be tosssed into the PSD. However given that we may face unwanted sanctions by the AFL this year or in the future, I'm now happy to get something for him as new players coming our way might become limited due to AFL penalties.

Thoughts?

A) I didn't mock anybody.
B) I don't give a damn what you think of me.
C) Pull your head in or your return to the Adelaide Board will be considerably shorter than you planned. Your smug arrogance act has worn thin, to the point where it will no longer be tolerated.

This is your first, last and only warning.
I would suggest he is seeking a red card so as to avoid the end of this whole scenario without being accused of going into hiding again.

Will be interesting to see what happens Macca, the AFL will want to sort this quick, certainly clubs seeking to trade for him would seek assurances regarding his future as an AFL player. Personally I think he will get traded to Brisbane, Sydney will pull out, with the AFL seeking to use substantial financial penalties for both Kurt and Adelaide, with only a minimal suspension handed to Kurt and relieving us of our pick 20.

AFL will be too sh!t scared of the Tippett camp going nuclear with a restraint of trade case to stop the trade.

My prediction is that the Tippett trade tomsydney goes ahead, then Adelaide is smashed by the afl. Not sure if they'll sanction Tippett himself or find a way for Blucher to take the hit. I'm sure Alistair Lynch will throw Blucher to the wolves to save his business.

If West Adelaide had paid for Joel's relocation, then the AFC would have nothing to worry about. West Adelaide didn't - Adelaide did. Big problem.

Paying a young footballer to come to SA, so we can keep an eye on him, doesn't make things any better. It's still a breach of the salary cap!

Besides, that's just not going to work. Nobody is that stupid. Everyone knows that the reason the AFC paid for Joel's relocation was to keep Kurt happy, reasoning that having a family member in the same town might make him more inclined to re-sign. It didn't work - and now we're in the shitter for failing to declare it.

We all suspected that the Crows paid for Joel to be playing in SA, but we also thought that if that was the case that it would have been ratified by the AFL.

The incompetence behind this whole saga is astounding and surely someone has to take the fall for this. The club will loose all respect should they go into 2013 with the same administration.

Can't see Sydney facing up to their supporters after obtaining a reasonable trade for Tippett. I really can't see any club wanting him in the first year to be honest.

Lets not forget that if Kurt was a party to these deals (and it appears as if he was), hes in some serious shit too.

Would Sydney want to trade for a player that might end up deregistered for a year?

For the record (Deisel Williams precedent):

In February 1992, it was uncovered that both Williams and the Sydney Swans had breached the league's salary regulations. Williams had received additional, undeclared payments via one of Sydney's sponsors during the 1990 season, with both the club and the player aware of the rort. Both plead guilty to the AFL. The club was fined $50,000, and Williams was fined $25,000 and de-registered by the league for eleven weeks. Williams was in his first pre-season with Carlton at the time, and his debut for the club was delayed until Round 7 as a result of the deregistration

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greg_Williams_(Australian_footballer)#Transfer_to_Carlton

20 years ago and it was $50,000 for the club, and $25k + 11 weeks deregistration for the player.

This may end very badly for all involved.

I think it goes without saying that there needs to be a clean out. I work for a major corporate and it doesn't surprise me that these jokers could be so incompetent (or worse still, unethical). Good people really are hard to find!

My apologies for stupid questions butI have been away, for a day,

Have we seen the wording of the Deal?, was it a deal or an email exchange?
Has the AFL, made a decision on it?

Also WTF?

Articles don't seem specific. Reading between the lines of the Caro article posted above, it talks about how John Reid allowed Tippett to have a "note" which contained the trade clause and brother relocation clause. Both crows and Tippett have a copy. So assume its either an email or a memo.

Also, WTF!!!

I'm super excited at the potential trade welcoming the ridiculous talented Mr Jesse White to the Adelaide Football Club. I'm a massive advocate for this prodigal talent and would be more than willing to form the welcome party as he lands at the airport. No questions, no more investigations just do the trade? I frankly think we'd be robbing Sydney blind and he's an elite prospect.

All's forgiven Jesse you beautiful man. Cool tatt btw!

Cheers mate, I just saw an article from the herald sun which says that they think we would avoid sanctions.

Can't wait too see Jessie White in the TRI colours as well

I was like Whoa!, then he was like Whoa!, Then you were like Whoa! - the past 24 hours have just been crazy

Honestly when they were talking about draft tampering with the 2 round pick deal I thought it was going to be water off a ducks back and just a slap on the wrist fine, but why, oh why did they have to (allegedly) involve money with out of Salary cap payments in their stupid email and now to have supposedly funded the move of some 2nd string brother into town.

and we thought Jesse White was going to be the worst thing to come out of this situation, comeback Jesse!, comeback

Stab - forget the Wagyu beef. Pie Floater at Cafe De Villis will be just the trick ;)

Jen - do you now agree we have SIGNIFICANT ISSUES down at the club? Been saying it since early 2010 and I think it's time you finally agreed ;)

AFGM - keep posting, fascinated to see what else you have to offer. Still believe the GCS bit as well. The whole thing has stunk to high heaven for a long time. Why oh why would we bend over backwards to keep him when they were putting such ridiculous agreements in front of us. I'm very interested to view some of Kurt's game day efforts in 2010/2011 again... so many guys played with their hearts not in it, would be fascinated to see his body language again. There is no doubt in my mind he didn't want to be here.

Just reading this article it looks like the AFL knew we were trying to hide something by originally accepting Sydney's deal considering how bad it looked for us on paper and it was only after we had originally denied hiding anything and saying we were happy for the deal to go through that we came clean to the AFL. This is really poor form from the club hierarchy by trying to gain the moral high ground in claiming that they were the ones to first inform the AFL when in reality they were pushed into a corner and had no other alternative but to admit it in the first place.

Industry experts watching the Tippett saga unfold from a distance have scratched their heads over the criticism levelled at Tippett, who had a golden deal in front of him and wanted to execute it. The trouble is it might be deemed to be illegal.

Adelaide declined to comment yesterday, other than to release a statement saying it welcomed the investigation. It is understood Adelaide and Sydney had put up a united front when questioned by the AFL, both saying they wanted the deal to go through and defending the negotiations.

There since has been more put into the prospective trade, with suggestions of Sydney continuing to pay White to provide the Crows with salary relief.

But if that is for the benefit of Adelaide or to make the deal look more acceptable in the eyes of the AFL is anybody's guess.

It is honestly geting worse by the hour, Trigg is going to bear the brunt of it considering others in high up positions Chapman, Smart, Harper and Noble have all denied having anything to do with the original 2009 contract, John Reid will be forever tainted for his last act of debauchery and if what's been written is true we probably deserve all of what we're going to get which Isn't going to be pretty.

This has all been one big JOKE, Clearly this needs to be cleaned up quick but it wont.
Thanks to Kurt this will hurt our 2013 season, I feel for the players and our new coach...
2 days left of this period, any chance of any positive news?

What a disaster from wo to go
- Tony Tippett and Blutcher for being heavy handed and insisting on the clause
- Triggy and Reid for agreeing to the clause and selling our soul in the process
- Sydney for playing hard ball and trying to enforce something they would have well known uld have led to an AFL investigation
- Tippett for bringing in his lawyers and threatening AFC with supreme court action. Stupid move Yippett that decision was always not going to end well

This has been a total disaster incigated by Tony Tippett and Blutcher and Triggy crumbled under the pressure that will surely cost him his job

She called this months ago, I wouldn't completely write off her article.

No I'm not - merely commenting on how her article could well have been based on everything that had been said in here over 15,000 posts! much of what she has said in this particular article has been said, almost word for word in here.
