Sorry to digress, but we are hoping to strike gold with our first academy bunch next year, just like you guys did with Tex Walker. For once, we'll get two KPF prospects bypassing draft lottery.

Back to Tippett, keep the rage going :D

Back to the trolling, it won't last long.:).

I think you mean drivel.

I doubt Jesse was strongly considered, it was probably more of a tactic to get Melbourne to move along in the Martin trade faster. How can you say that we can't be happy with how our trade period has panned out? Would you like to be in our position going towards this draft or yours?

Honestly, this is a moot point. You lost out on compensation for Tippett last and this year and you are trying to cushion that with the fact that we didn't take him so we are idiots? WTF? Looking for someone new to blame and you find a team that would've compensated you with a first round draft pick but your club was too stupid to take it!!!

We have Brown and a few others coming through but at the moment it is thinner than we'd like. Tippett is not the messiah that would make us a premiership team next year but he certainly is one that will reduce your clubs chances!

You can try and argue as much as you want, it doesn't change the fact that your club has lost an integral part of it's team without compensation and the sanctions yet to be imposed are going to have ramifications now and down the track.

Good luck next year.
Again, you are trying to spin this into something its not. I know we have ****ed up, Im not looking to blame anyone else for that. I was referring to a comment Kerr made which showed how highly he rated Tippett and yet he wasnt prepared to offer up an unproven midfielder. So stop being a w***er.

As for whose position I would rather be in going to the draft? Yours of course, what a stupid question. But I would prefer to be going into 2013 with our list.

By the way, retreating from your fantasy claim that we demanded pick 8 & Polec?

******* hell, trade week is finally over. Do we really need to start this 'no hes worth x' nonsense again?
and they're talking about last year's trade week! I'm betting Tippett's trade value this year will be debated until he retires.
Will be like the Reilly/Dal Santo thing that took 10 years to resolve.

Why would we put Polec on table knowing he is happy to stay with us for the next 2 years ?

Because you had more need for a KPF/ruck than for a junior mid

Doesn't matter now. I'm not really fussed about Brisbane's lack of forward options. I'm pissed at our club for fluffing the whole scenario. We will lose an asset we developed for nothing due to sheer incompetence. We lose. However Brisbane come out empty handed where they had the potential to fill a key need. Sydney come out with nothing gained but a battered trading reputation. GWS come out all smiles with a mature KPF/ruck. Their spine is starting to look pretty decent

didnt see this one posted here yet, apologies if its a double up

http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/afl/kurt-must-cop-the-blame-too/story-fn83zjcx-1226514066543

BY THIS time next week we will know the penalties for the Crows' handling of the Kurt Tippett saga.

The critics are lining up to dance on the grave and to denounce the tactics the Adelaide Football Club used to re-sign the ex-basketballer who has shown so much potential in Australian football.

Those critics will be disappointed. Adelaide will be penalised but not excessively. The likely penalty will be the loss of several, if not all, of this year's draft picks and a fine of anywhere between $250,000 and $500,000 - heavy, but not crippling.

Good article except the whole "Trigg keeping his job part"

Losing all our draft picks this year and a fine seems to be a punishment deserved of the crime.

Glad we got Crouch last year.

Can't wait till we can put all this BS behind us and we can focus on a bright future for 2013 for the players and Sando :thumbsu:

Nice dribble. Kerr called him one of the best 12 KPF in the world, not to offer up an unproven midfielder when you don't have a key forward is idiotic. I wouldn't be too happy with what happened this year for you, you compensated for not getting Tippett with Stefan Martin and were considering Jesse White FFS. After Brown you have no key position forward, who is your midfield going to kick it to?

As for pick 8 & Polec, where did you read that?

I think a lot depends on if Brisbane knew about the secret deal. You might buy something this week knowing it is going on special next week if it is rare commodity, or the last one left. But most people would wait a week.
If Brisbane knew, they might have been willing to offer a deal to steal the march on GC or any other club, but they wouldn't offer market now would they?

i thought teachers didnt actually get all those extra holidays because they were spent planning curriculum for the coming year?

Even if this was true, and it's not as I can do planning at home - since when has AFL football been played during school hours?

I can still make it to AFL games by flying out of Adelaide at 4:30 pm

Um, you post a lot Jenny, Im not scouring through your posts for an answer.

In the post you quoted, I said "whether he keeps his job or not is up to the board." Not sure how Vlad comes into it?

I reckon Cornes is on the money and it's pretty much what we've been saying in here.

Hurry up and get it over with Andy D.

For debate sake, if tippet was talking with the swans before his first two seemingly innocent contests that 'concussed' him..and with some of the tricks we know thats been played, one has to contemplate him trying to lower his value to achieve what he wanted, especially if he was well aware that sydney had nothing for us in a trade.

We really can't afford to with our position, need a lot of things to go right atm. If Polec is keen to leave in 12 months time there would be plenty of clubs keen to sign Polec if a trade can't be worked out and he wouldn't be able to demand a big enough amount of $ to deter someone drafting him. Psd is only a good option for very few players if they want to end up at a specific club.

It's probably all bullshit anyway. Really don't think we're the sort of club who'd try and pull that sort of shit either. Hypothetically, if he did want out and nominated Adelaide, I'm sure we'd do our best to facilitate a fair trade. In the long run, it doesn't pay to go out of your way to screw other clubs over at the trade table. Something tells me we'll be extending absolutely no goodwill to Sydney in the future.
