To think, I thought Kim Duthie and the St Kilda Footy Club was a circus.

I almost wish we had that scenario this year, where our off-season scandal was photos of our naked fullback was pointing at our captain's dick, and where we found out that our premier midfielder had a wang the size of a roll of Lifesavers.

I have always assumed that this was the way it happened. There is no reason for Tippett to add a clause that had him staying at a club he did not want to be at.

Starting to feel for the young players entering the AFL , Tippett managed to find both a club and a management firm with unethical people handling his contracts. That is a lot of pressure whether it turns out that Tippett is an ethical person or not.
What are you talking about. Why would adelaide put that in their contract when if they wanted to they could trade him fro a Third round pick if they saw fit. One thing is for certain her- Tippet has no respect for the Crows and is in it for the money alone. The crows plucked him from basketball and now he is trying to milk it for all it is worth and way above his value.

This is another case of cplayers using intersate clubs to hold their holding clubs to ransom. I have a relationship with a fe w AFL players and know for a fact their management pushed offers from Melb clubs to increase their value when there was absolutely no intention to return to VIC. With 10 VIC clubs it is too easy for players to inflate their value if they are from Melb

And if that's how it happened - Kurt wanting to leave and we threw ourselves teary eyed at his feet...

Why would his side be the one to suggest the dodgy stuff?

I.e. if he wanted out why would they be trying to get creative in finding ways to get him to stay? After all he's outta here?

And if they can prove that - they say they proof that it was our idea - then how much worse will it be for us?

Especially as we our now trying to say we were out flanked by big bad tony & his boy

What, back in 2009?

Or is he saying that, had Kurt left and gone to another club on a one year deal that he could have been offered more money at the end of 2010?

Or is this the whole window thing again?
no idea, that's what he was saying though. I can only assume GC was in their window for stealing players one year out.

Kurt had a year left on his contract, so f he signed with the GC at the end of 2009 he would've played with us in 2010 and then moved to GC I guess.

We are pantless! Difficult to imagine how unprofessional this whole thing is now showing. According to Caro there is now doubt about the actual timing of the 'rewritten' letter sent to the Tippett camp. I don't know how to insert so bear with me.....
.....'timing of the rewritten letter which was originally sent by Reid to Tippett and his manager in Oct 2009....' 'The board (AFC?) was recently assured the 2nd letter - which was written to eliminate damning evidence of suggested salary cap breaches - was re-sent several days after the 1st version. It is now alledged the re-written letter was forwarded toward the end of the 2012 season - almost 3 years after the original version'.

I know this is the media but Caro seems to have Blucher wispering in her ear. That aside - if true, how could we be so amateurish in the first place, and then even pathetically worse as we try to cover our asses???? It seems we have compounded our original peeweak breaches with more ineptitude. Thank god we emptied our pockets to the AFL 2 weeks ago. C'mon Tuesday, let it be over with.

Yes, our management of the situation is appearing amateurish in the extreme... yet Trigg is lloking forward to explaining the situation next week. Unless he has something significant up his sleeve to defend the charges, he must be delusional if he is looking forward to next week.

That confuses me too - is he smelling his own gas here?

How in any god's name is there any way that he can be looking forward to what is lying in wait on Monday How? Surely it is the end of his professional career - if any of the charges even stick in the slightest?

Right?

Yeah me too. So sad. What have they done to our club :(

They've done nothing to OUR CLUB. What they have done is to possibly/probably destroy their own futures - either at our Club or any other. Adelaide Football Club will come out of this ok. We will recover. We have a strong squad even without Tippett. We have a Coach the players love playing for. Our admin will sort itself out and we will move forward.

I'm sorry Jenny but this is BS!

AFC are currently a laughing stock of the AFL for this Tippett Saga ... & other some other supporters have been happy to let us know. These alleged incompenent actions have damaged the AFC brand & caused anguish to most supporters as we care about this club & not happy that it has been tarnished in this way.

Yes, I hope it bonds the coach & playing group, but to propose they have done NOTHING TO OUR CLUB with their management of this Tippett saga, you are seriously kidding yourself!

It would be pretty funny if Blucher didn't know about the Balfours contract because Kurt was too cheap to give him any commission!

Might explain why Blucher hasn't been charged with anything.

Triggy has appeared confident right from the start with this.

IMO most of the media leaks and reports appear to be coming from KT's manager or some other team KT connection, and now his lawyer. They're certainly slanted to the detriment of the club and lately attempting to drum up sympathy for KT. We've not heard the story or read any leaks from the AFC perspective... except for maybe what Rowie's had to say.

I'm thinking (hoping) there's more to it (or maybe less) than has been leaked and all will be revealed Monday or Tuesday next week.

I think most people will see it for what it is. We aren't systematic or chronic cheats. We've done it for one player. And we've apparently done it very badly. We aren't in the same boat as say a Carlton who cheated the cap for a number of players over a number of years, or Melbourne. Just look at the list of Clubs that have breached over the years - and they are just the ones that got caught. I think the blame will lay squarely at the feet of those that did this - particularly if the board was mislead or lied to. Some will brand us as cheats, and that's their right I guess. But everyone knows this was a stupid, stupid act by those that wanted to keep this one player at the Club by hook or by crook. And they will pay very dearly for it I suspect.

Stay with the program! ;) Blucher won't be dealt with by the AFL, he falls under the AFLPA and they most certainly have him in their sites.

It has to be a combination of info provided by the Tippett camp and a leak from the AFL.

Caro's whole presentation implies that we made the first approach on the 2nd round draft pick clearance deal, which is illogical in that the only beneficiary is Tippett.

The benefit for Adelaide was meant to be 3 more years of a player who was the talk of the town, had a big finals series and looked set to become one of the top 2-3 forwards in the league the next year. Given the Crows lost a semi by a kick and all the old timers were firing on all cylinders, the benefit was meant to be a premiership.

The Crows making that offer depends on how close Tippett was to being out the door. If Tippett had told the club he was leaving, absolutely the Crows could have thrown that at him in desperation to get him to stay. But it could have just as easily come from him/his manager.

I guess it will come out soon. I can see why the Crows did what they could to get him to stay, unfortunately the full benefit didnt eventuate.

I really hope you're right. It does make sense though because the AFC are so confident and all of the leaks do appear to be coming from Tippetts side.

Bullshit Jenny they have sold us down the river. We have a great squad but the loss of multiple draft picks and a huge fine will really hurt. Not to mention the loss of respect and damage to our brand. Trigg's legacy is looking like resembling John Elliot's (without the premiership) unfortunately. Next week cant come quickly enough.

Like you I don't think it will be as bad as the media have sensationalised, but it is extremely unlikely we will come out of this well & without significant punishement.

The club will suffer though, Jenny. And right at the time when things were looking promising. A few hundred pages back I said I was of the opinion that this would have the effect of galvanising the playing group, bonding them in adversity, and probably find its expression in some real determination to show everyone what we're made of.

Now, I'm not so sure. Back then, it was just Tippett being an arse and some stupid gentleman's agreement. Now, it's a full-on scandal that has swallowed the club up. Do you imagine that the players are talking about anything else? Do you think they will be 100% focussed on getting in a good pre-season, or will they be speculating on who knew what and when, wondering whether the CEO or Football Ops manager is going to walk or get the sack, debating amongst themselves whether any of these people should have walked already. There will be rumours doing the rounds and a bunch of different opinions on the rights and wrongs of what has gone on. You might even have a few recent re-signers questioning whether they've done the right thing.

All of that stuff has the power to be at best distracting, possibly destabilising, and at worst poisonous. We'd all better hope 'our admin will sort itself out'. But that's far from certain at this stage.

Most people think that AFC will be found to be cheating. Irrelevant whether it is chronic or not ... the bottome line is if we are found guilty of cheating then this WILL reflect badly on AFC management, supporters & everyone associated with club ... & give us a negative stigma that will never go away!

Too right some should pay for it dearly as they have made a huge stuff up.

To make matters worse, we could have legally paid Tippett these extra $'s. How stupid are they? Certainly not people I want leading my club anymore!
