It'll be interesting to see what Tippett is worth in about 2 years. Be honest, what odds he plays to his potential for the majority of the rest of his career?
I can remember about 5 games where he played to his potential, so id say thatd make the odds pretty slim, but we'll see i guess

If GWS take Brodie Grundy early its probably safe to assume they'll pass Tippett over and redraft a Clifton type late in the ND or PSD.

Its looking like GWS are passing on both Grundy and Toumpas and taking Whitfield, O'Rourke and Plowman with picks 1,2,3 (this is pretty much confirmed). I think its extremely unlikely that Grundy falls all the way down to Pick 14, but if this does occur, GWS will snap him up there.

They have the cap space to pay Tippett, and they are fully aware that this will create major headaches for the Swans which is just part of their motivation.

If I was a betting man, I'd be putting the house on GWS to draft Tippett in the PSD IF HE NOMINATES FOR IT.

Still a lot to play out before then though. Here's hoping. ;)

Honestly I'm not sure. I think the main concern with him is consistency, he is able to play to the level of his potential, as the prelim this year shows, but why he doesn't do it more often I don't know. Discounting his recent concussion issues he has been quite durable so I wouldn't blame his consistency problems on injuries.

Inside info?

I thought it interesting tippett has made application to be delisted and avoid psd. I thought it may indicate some genuine concern that gws are not bluffing.

That's a bullshit myth portrayed by way too many of our supporters. He has played a lot more than 5 outstanding games for the club.

Jesus, this story just keeps on giving:

http://www.afc.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/4417/newsid/151449/default.aspx

The Adelaide Football Club has withdrawn its first two selections of tomorrow’s 2012 NAB National Draft as a gesture of goodwill towards resolving the Tippett matter.

Chairman Rob Chapman described it as a common-sense initiative that is in the Club’s overall best interests.

It would result in Adelaide having picks 62, 81 and 95 in tomorrow's draft.

thought it wasnt as bad as the media was reporting. i thought the media was full of it. i agree with the following sentiments:
Crows' goodwill gesture .... looks like a husband buying flowers for the wife after being caught having an affair

Thought the Crows were looking forward to getting to the commission and explaining what really happened.. seems that philosophy is shot

Crows chairman Rob Chapman: "We see this as a pragmatic gesture made in good faith." Translation: Please only ban us from one more draft

WTF?

Why - it's not like the AFL will return that good faith towards us. We will lose 2, no make that 3 first round picks now.

**** off.

lol, relax man, the club surely would have sought some sort of acknowledgement that this will be accounted for in the penalty from the AFL

I have not argued that at all. Not once.

I am pointing out your hypocrisy on this board for having both sides of an argument and claiming, thus, you are right.

The meme was he was always on big money if he came.

Just to be clear I am not asserting that as a "fact" but that was the meme.

Well gosh. Just like his trade value then. What someone is willing to pay and NOT what you deem is fair. If that is not true why not? We are simply discussing a business transaction aren't we.

Having said that your club deemed a second round pick fair and wrote it down just to sure there was no mistaking it. Just making sure you don't lose sight of that (inconvenient) fact.

Our offer (if true) is overs in my book. But so what? It is hard to train a guy to be 202cm and 100kgs if they are not and our recruiting staff does a hell of a job (see my other post) so I will defer to their better judgement.

The fact still remains you want it both ways.Huge compensation for trading him because he is "elite" and howling with protest when he gets "paid as an elite".

See the failure in your argument?

Because no Sydney threads have ever done this?

This just tops off an already ****ed day.

They better have some bloody master plan up their sleeve that will result in us getting some good news down the line.
