Here's my take, and what I think has happened / will happen.
The Crows wouldn't have done this completely off their own bat. They've consulted with the AFL and the AFL have agreed that this will be their penalty for the "gentleman's agreement". They've given us a choice of this draft or next year's draft, and we've decided on this one.
The meeting on the 30th of November will be to determine the legality of the 3rd party agreements. Once they've determined that we have no case to answer (which I hope we don't
), they'll annouce that the draft picks that we've already sacrificed (plus a potential fine) is the only penalty we'll received.
Rose coloured glasses? Maybe.
