Id have thought the fact that Tippett will now end up in the PSD and get picked by Sydney should tell people how strong Sydneys bargaining position was. But lets not go over old ground.
And that's why Kurts lawyer is sending demands to the AFL to delist him because Sydney is a lock. Also interesting Sydney are overlooking Grundy.

Yes, they do actually. There is a big difference between trying to send a message to other clubs that you won't be bent over at the trade table, versus being forced to lose a player for nothing due to a draft tampering and salary cap rorting investigation. And not only have we lost Tippett for nothing, we've also lost additional draft picks that had nothing to do with him.
Just to remind you, we were about to lose him for nothing before any of the current issues arose.

I think they are about a 90% chance, Gallbally is just trying to remove the 10% doubt.

I would be flabbergasted if any club offered to match the current deal put forward by Sydney for a player that doesn't want to be there. Id be filthy if my club did it.

Wasn't everyone saying they'd prefer us to take the hit this year? Now we're unhappy?

Yes we were but thats fine so long as thats it. If the AFL come along a take the next two years as well then no. Lets still wait and see what our punishment is before we get too upset. There has got to be something/some reason why this has been done.

i think you are underestimating GWS in all of this. A) they have the cash available now that izzy has pulled the pin. B) they need an established KPP to ramp up some interest in their club NOW and boost member numbers, morale etc, C) They do not want their main rival to get even stronger than they already are and D) they have crazy kevin calling the shots!

I'd call it a 50/50, but i fully realise i'm in the minority there with most people still feeling he's a lock to be at the swans. Hopefully dip$hitt gets deregistered and then cops a concussion slipping on his freshly waxed surfboard which ends his career in his NSW homeland before it begins though.

If Crows have admitted guilt ....then Tippett will be de-registered for a period of time
my guess ...6 weeks

The media release said there were things happening behind the scenes. it isn't too hard to imagine as someone suggested earlier that the afl don't want this hearing. It opens up a whole can of worms for them. I'd imagine our lawyers are not making it easy.

yes but that's all the more reason we should be smashing the AFL with all the inconsistencies in their crap rules rather than taking a penalty ourselves to help the AFL save face....that's exactly what the AFL wants. It doesn't want it's crap rules to be exposed to real lawyers as it'll make them look incredibly stupid...

If the AFL now come out and say...actually we aren't going to penalise the Crows everyone will say hold on it a minute you made a backroom deal with the Crows didn't you? eh c'mon it's pretty obvious and that'll start new bullshit for the AFL....my god the AFL's incompetence is only bettered by our own

the only thing that might save this from becoming a total and utter farce is if we've made a deal with the AFL to ensure Tiprat doesn't get to Sydney,,,,but I bet the AFL doesn't have the balls for that move as Tiprat at least has the balls to actually take them to court

Isn't that draft tampering ;)

We know that we have been banned from effectively one years draft and lost our highest paid player for nothing. Really even if we get nothing else now it's already been bad.

before we've even been found guilty of anything.....talk about pathetic...heard on the news it's being called a 'goodwill gesture'....'but not an admission of guilt'....what the flying ****? you take a penalty before the trial and expect the judge to not think you've done something wrong? who the **** is running this fiasco? chapman must go, trigg must go, harper must go.....GET RID OF ALL OF THEM!!

I'm going to laugh when we lose some of next year's picks as well.

You don't get to choose how you're penalised, how and when you want it; that's why its called a punishment. Why on Earth should we be conveniently allowed to sacrifice our meagre late first and third rounders, when they could take a decent first, second and third off us next year?

We don't even give ourselves half a chance in this league, and we're going to be bitterly disappointed when the AFL choose to make an example of us.

The AFL will want a quick and clean resolution. The landscape has changed now that lawyers are sniffing around and pointing out all of the loopholes and ambiguity in their 'house of cards' rules. They will want this to go away but recognise that we have to be punished. This is a win win for us and AFL.

maybe...but we'll see

I think it is better than 50/50 he will end up at GWS -
(1) Dean Brogan deliseted to fit him into the list in the PSD.
(2) 90% of GWS players wouldn't want to be there either.
(3) GWS being Vlads love child he will pony up the cash.
(4) 100 games of forward experience is a great help to them.
(5) After a year they could then trade him for a high draft pick and or player.

I think they would do it just for upgrading a PSD pick to most likely a first rounder the year after.
