What are you talking about. It reached the indefensible stage for you on day 1.

and he was right. Its time for you to end this ridiculous attack on other posters who have been completely vindicated.

I think the main point that Jenny and others (including me) were trying to make was that until the "salem trial" process is completed on Friday and actual penalties handed out, we should not be (and could not be) in a position to make a judgement as to what appropriate punishments should be imposed on Trigg and co.
There is a due and somewhat "fair" process to be carried out first so that all the facts and mitigating circumstances, plea bargains etc can be presented to the Commission.
Emma Quayle's latest article has been the best to date giving us a more coherent and chronological order of events, but the AFC's submission hasnt yet been presented nor leaked.

I think that too many posters were willing to give a "death sentence" prior to a court hearing - and even if at the end of that hearing, the court results in the same conclusion, that does not vindicate the correctness of the position held by those posters prior.

Surely, we learnt something from the Rendell fiasco - in that we should allow a due and fair process to be undertaken before handing out punishments.

Well clearly it has, EQ already knows the outcome.
The article quoted is by Capel and Fjeldstad on Adelaidenow. EQ doesn't mention any penalties in her latest article. Not really sure what you're saying.

My interpretation is that holding out for Adelaide to exonerate itself at the hearing is looking like wishful thinking. I think their cards have all been played. The hearing will provide a public explanation of the situation as agreed by the parties this week and an announcement of penalties.

The one area of doubt I see is the Tippett defence. Presumably, whether he instigated the deal or was coerced will be argued over in the hearing but, again, you would imagine that the commission will know what to expect from both camps. So unless someone produces a surprise smoking gun, they probably already know what the outcome there is too.

Well, it probably has - just not in the hearing. If all they've got is 'We're guilty. Please be gentle,' then it has been leaked too.

Legit question - for the protection of the club, should Chapman throw Trigg under the bus?

Are you asking whether we should have shown the integrity to distance the club from the rogue actions of a few individuals - then yes, we should have.

We should have acted swiftly, and should have shown from day one that true integrity is having a no tolerance policy for any individual's actions that may damage the club.

We seemed to do that if it's a player or a recruiter. Pity we can't do it with the one person for whom the buck stops.

AFL player movement is too focused on drafting, which is in it's self a lottery, in an era of free agency, being cashed up, and having a good football department, we should be able to make something work.
If you have a squint across the Pacific, and look at the Lakers in the NBA, they haven't seriously participated in the draft for a while, They Pony up at Trade time and make a play for the talent that they need.
I will be as disappointed as anyone if we cop harsher penalties than Carlton did, but I do think that we have the talent to get through.
I am kinda happy we didn't win a flag this year, could you imaging the calls for us to hand it back!

[5 players on the court, maybe 9 in a rotation vs 22 and maybe 35 ...]

Question was asked is she hot, wasnt posted as a rebuttal to any of her points.

And if you can't see the issue there, then you might want to think again. Females in male dominated positions are often judged on their looks and not their abilities by people making comments. Or if someone wants to disagree with a point, the easiest way taken to rebut is not to discuss the points so much but to start talking down someone's looks instead.

For a picture of her to be posted and people to talk about her looks is what I consider a form of misogyny. Just consider how much Caroline Wilson cops because of how she looks and compare that to most other male journalists (Rucci is a special case ;) ).

So, I agree that posting a pic of a journalist is low and there is a long history of why this is especially bad in reference to females.

True - though considering it is in the context of constant praise being heaped upon Emma Quayle, it perhaps holds less weight. No one seemed to be using it to in any way undermine or lessen her contributions.

Of course, the question wouldn't come up for a male journalist.

plus a D-League squad, It's not ideal, but if we attack it properly, we can work a strategy.

One new free agent for a basketball team could be a 20% improvement for the overall squad. One new free agent is maybe 5% improvement.

You can;t really compare, because a single basket ball player can influence the game so much more than a single footballer.

I still think that she is hot :D
as well as being the best footy journalist.

Here's one of the other things that's bothering me.

Sure - we're really contrite! Please don't punish us!

But we're not so contrite that we voluntarily take action internally to sack the responsible staff. No, we'd rather you take action against the club and save their jobs, please.

That seems a bit hypocritical, doesn't it? Maybe not actually contrite at all?
