Didn't quite mean it like that, but intent is usually factored into deciding a penalty. Like a bad bump, if you were trying to take him out you usually get more weeks than the guy who plays a stupid bump without intent but causes harm.

Yeah I know you didn't mean it like that, but I'm okay with my club's footballers being a bit stupid at times. I'm never okay with my club's CEO (and others) being stupid.

Picking Up The Pieces
I hope we don't get whacked too hard. A fine and the first two picks on the 2013 draft will sting but won't cripple. Anything more than that though... well, we can worry about that later.

Just as vexing an issue though is how to make fans care for the club again. I'm not talking about the unconditional AFC lovers. I'm talking about the normal people with opinions, minimum standards, who expect a level of professionalism and actually want to see the club succeed......

There is no set time for the hearing to finsh, so we don't know.

Kurt's management of this has been stupid from the start:

- threaten Crows with court if the secret deal isn't followed: crows make it public

- threaten to sue the crows if they don't delist him: Crows point out the AFL won't let them

- Threaten to sue someone?? if his grievance tribunal case doesn't support his free movement: Case lost, he walks away and delists himself

- lawyer insists he's innocent, and will take legal action if any other finding occurs: Strong word he'll settle with 1/2 a year out

For all his threats, from my perspective he has only either made himself look like a dick, or made the situation even worse.

Wonder what would have happened if Kurt and his management used the same effort they did to threaten the crows on convincing the swans to make a deal the AFL couldn't red flag....
