I hope you've been keeping up with your little post about Collingwood supporters being optimistic.

It hasn't come from you, but slowly a few facts have crept into the responses, rather than you submitting your opinion and calling it fact while basing it on no evidence.

Why don't you go and have a look

Matt,
Great effort mate! From your posts on my topic (yes...i have been checking it out), you are clearly well informed, quite intelligent and you sure do know how to destroy an argument (although it wasn't much of one to begin with anyway!!)

i put that post up, because, there ARE a lot of collingwood bandwagon jumpers who jump on when the team begins to play well, and i STILL stand by that statement. Clearly, you are not one of them though, which is fantastic to see. But i still do believe that there are a lot of them. Now you're correct, that is only MY OPINION, and i'm not, and haven't ever been trying to pass it off as fact..... but it is still my opinion and i am entitled to it.....just like you're entitled to yours - that there are a lot of bomber bandwagon jumpers. I don't agree with that opinion, but i'm not going to lambast you for having it - it's your opinion and you are entitled to it.

I do believe that there are many many coll'wood bandwagon jumpers because that has been my overwealming experience. I am not, and HAVE NEVER suggested that that applies to all collingwood fans. I only put that post up because i am right sick of being annoyed by these 'half-fans' everytime collingwood win a game. Now i'm sorry if felt that you got lumped in wih this crowd.

I liken the situation to the one that exists with adelaide fans. When they do badly, some of them rebel, vandaize things, and often do not turn up the next week. Now, does this mean that all crows fans are like this?? OF COURSE NOT. Do that type of fans still exist however?? ABSOLUTELY.

So, i hope that's helped clear up a few of your concerns.

cheers
staggy

That is the problem with generalising, isn't it.

This ones prolly my fault, but I get sicked of Collingwood being bagged when we lose, and then bagged on the rare occasions we win, that's all.

Stagg, I also hate being put on this "bandwagon", like you said you can't isolate it to one club, so why on earth do you bring it onto this topic! Maybe these "bandwagon" supporters are sick of wasting their money to go an watch a club lose! However, I go ever week I can.

Sorry Staggy,
I didn't see your post on the topic "about me being above that". thanks it great to see some comments taken seriously for once!

For what it's worth Collingwood turned in some creditable losing performances last year and did the same thing to Hawthorn at waverley, where Hawks had some Home Ground Advantage. We're yet to see which adelaide it will be this year, the Finals specialists or the bottom 5 side

Couple that with a new (proven)coach and you have every reason to be optimistic. What is more likely, Collingwood making the top four or Essendon ending the season with yet more excuses ?

Recent history suggests a top four team will come from 15 or 16 ('97 Bulldogs, '98 Van Demons or '99 Lions) Collingwood this year

And Brisbane, Kangaroos, Essendon, Bulldogs look out, one or two will tumble out of the eight on recent year's form
