The slo-mo replay, or the real time replay ?
Incidents like these shouldn't be decided using slow motion replays.
All incidents should not be shown in slow motion. I've said that since the Houli strike. It gives an unreasonable impression that the striker has an eternity to contemplate what to do and carry it out.

Was a massive admirer of his talents last year - nearly pinched a prelim from us. After watching him this year it's pretty clear he's just a massive campaigner of a bloke. I don't doubt he meant to get Dahlhaus deliberately with his boot. He's talented enough to do damage without his cheap shots.

Sticking your foot up head high in the direction of a player when receiving a handball is only going to end one way. It's nothing like a boot incidentally collecting someone in a pack situation.

Suspect the AFL will whitewash this one but next time he pulls a cheap shot at someone's head he should get seven or eight. It's ugly footy.

Pretty obvious further extension of the leg there during the twist. That's a kick.

It's not a kick. He braces and then attempts to push off. The extension looks worse than it should because he accidentally makes contact with Dahlhaus' head and encounters less resistance than expected.

I think he was unfairly maligned up to a certain point.

He's got attitude and the Zagames incident certainly influenced the way people thought about his football.

Not after this year, though. He's a remorseless thug and the "character"/"playing on the edge" lines don't pass for me at all. He should be judged by his record.

And you just got whooped and that doesn't colour your judgement at all.

so if someone had run into their boot you would call for a suspension?

I wouldn't be. Not at all.

It's not entirely unusual for a foot to go out in a marking contest.... Joe Daniher collected Easton Wood in the stomach two weeks ago doing exactly that. No problem. But your photos don't really help your argument overly.... Tom Hawkins looks like he's being pulled off balance by Phil Davis and that's why his foot's out. And marking contests are totally different anyway... you can have two knees planted squarely on your opponent's shoulders and if you take the grab it's paid. Just like Greene did a minute or two after that incident. Great mark.

But as I posted earlier, players have been ducking and weaving their way out of hospital hand-passes for years. Don't remember too many of them taking Toby's course of action though.

Most people have been calling Greene out for the thug that he is long before last night. It's just further confirmation, not that it was needed.
Actually it's in your mind most people have. Do you have any data that supports this? I'm seeing a lot of Bulldog supporters who've just had their season ended, with Toby making his contribution.
Not convinced that means most people, or even objective people.

Still waiting for you to address my question regarding the lies I supposedly made in my post.

I don't think Greene did anything wrong in this incident, but it's head-in-sand stuff to deny he has a reputation.

if anyone wants to have a gold old fashioned chuckle, go over to the Geelong board and read the garbage my supporter base are currently sprouting

Worst part of all, these same muppets are tipping Geelong today :D

I came here because you chose to quote me. Fair enough.

But kind of awkward now, hey? Those 'muppets' were smarter than you on this game :$

Of course he does, it's his job to piss opposition players off. That naturally riles opposition supporters.

Leon's been critical of his lapses that have caused suspensions before, he's a very straight shooter, but always protective of Toby the person. This time he's defended him to the hilt, indicates to me people who know more than your average Joe think he's done nithing wrong in this case.
The MRP will make the decision.

this is hands down the most idiotic thread i've read on BF.

there is no such thing as protecting "your space" with your leg in the air in a kicking type motion.

why? because you have the potential to kick someone in the head you moron.

don't get me wrong, this wasn't overly vicious by any means but the head is sacrosant and he essentially kicked a player in the head in a ridiculosusly stupid and wreckless way.

So we should get rid of tackling, because there's a chance the head gets hurt ? If it was a knee thus wouldn't be an issue, nor would it be if it was a diff player
