Just been delisted by the dockers after only one season.

Are we interested?

Gotta be something there to be delisted after only one season, but in a relatively weak draft might be worth the look.

Was he a rookie pick??????

If I am not mistaken a player cannot be delisted until he serves his 2 year deal. I was under the impression that its a rule in the CBA

Nup pick 67 in the ND. That's what I thought too but apparently you only have to put a player on a 2 year contract if he is still 17 by a certain date.

Only Freo could delist a 19 year old midfielder and keep McManus

WHAT THE?!?!?!

Intereting that one. He was meant to be the next big thing and he was talked up massively at the start of last year. Didnt do anything last year in the SANFL (not sure if it was due to injury or poor form but he didnt play a Senior game) and now dumped after one year at Freo. I do remember he had very much a boys body, was very small.

Seems odd that they would dump him after the one year. Either hes terribly homesick and asked to come back home and no trade could be done or hes no good.

Or maybe he breached his contract by doing something stupid and its the reason he was delisted

It certainly is a very odd one.

If he got delisted by Freo then you know there is something up with the lad. Maybe he just isn't good enough

Going on past record, anything delisted by Freo early in their career is worth a punt. :D

Someone who has a little boy's body compared to what is required at AFL level. Go for it!
Do you mean like this bloke? :D

Perfect Rookie list type.

The Dockers are the most unprofessional club in the league. Only they would delist a 18 year old bloke after one year of a 2yr contract. Talk about messing around with a players career and confidence. You just dont do that.

And to be fair to Toby, I dont think this has anything to do with an off-field incident or anything. The dockers just said they prefered to keep Haines and Webster (both crabs with bung knees).

Unlike say Fraser Gehrig who has gone on to win two Coleman medals after he left your drug fuelled lot. Or your treatment of Rowan Jones.

Poor old Toby could barely crack a seniors game in the 2nd worst WAFL team. And you want to rate him higher than Webster and Haines?

I think you'll find it really is as simple as he's the 36th best player on the list and someone had to go. The club is paying out his contract, and is reported to intend rookie listing him.

That situation isnt even comparable. WCE did everything right by Fraser, he won AA at a young age for us and was given a go when many thought he would never make it. The fans treated him like pooh at the end of his stint but it probly was justified on his performance (but he shouldnt have been playing injured). We then sent him to his club of choice.

Webster and Haines are nothing special.

Lots of young players take time to develop. Toby was a bottom age draftee and was phsically underdone. The club knew that when they drafted him. David Mundy played some reserves footy for Subi last year he has turned out fine. Adam Campell was given a 3yr contract extension and he has done stuff all for 2yrs.

I just think its a pretty low act to cut the contract of an 18year old bloke trying to make his way.

We hear you old wise sage!

The problem dickwad is the size of club lists that force clubs to make cuts where they wouldnt otherwise. Freo went out of their way to say how difficult it was delisting players, perhaps you should take a breath of oxygen before you damage your brain further cretin.

The kid couldnt cut it with the Sharks this year, We had list pressure, something had to give. Its sad but thats AFL these days. If he gets a rookie listing that may well be whats better for him. Less pressure and two years to improve.

The way you are talking one could be forgiven for thinking you just came off a 3rd consecutive premiership.

For a side that has struggled to make the 8 for a few years now, one would think that there is plenty of dead wood to delist and honour a contract of an 18 year old draftee. No one can convince me that some of the players you have kept, deserved to be kept.

And the dockers list is jam packed with talent  How many AFL games has Haines played in the last 2yrs?

I am not going to talk about it on this board because its not the place but every other club has managed to stick by their young players at least for the duration of their contract. The dockers didnt which says a whole lot about the club.

Have u ever thought of giving your opinion without resorting to low-life behaviour like name calling.

If your are coming to come onto another clubs board at least be diplomatic.
