The Fraser-Pryce story would have been massive, but Thompson absolutely cruised in that semi. Looked prime to turn it on and that's what she did.
 
This is the first time I’ve missed the crowds
Yep I had a feeling that no crowds would impact the experience of the athletics. It just feels very different. An Olympic stadium on finals nights feels euphoric with crowds.

Without the crowd it lacks a big something. The athletes have been outstanding though.

America would win more gold in athletics than swimming?

Rio 2016:
Athletics = 13G , 10S, 9B
Swimming = 16G, 8G, 9B

London 2012:
Athletics = 9G , 12S, 7B
Swimming = 16G, 9G, 6B

Beijing 2008:
Athletics = 7G , 10S, 8B
Swimming = 12G, 9G, 10B

So close, but not quite apparently. The last time the US won as many golds in Athletics as they did Swimming was 1996 - 13 golds each
