After many a scotch and cigar tonight i wanted to pay tribute to our immortal leader Tom Harley. I thought he was one of the best on the field, his attack on the ball was ferocious and leadership to behold.

Played like he hurt more than most after last years grand final and in my eyes did more than enough to seek redemption. Whether he plays on or not i for one say thank you, your efforts today will live in the pages of history for many an age.

To quote our Magnificent captain "WE ARE GEELONG".

What is the new job Harley is taking in the media? He is very articulate and would make a good commentator I guess.

I reckon you've gone a bit over the top with the one of our best comments but still Tom is a superstar for showing the leadership that he has over the past few years - deserves massive credit - as to whether he plays on - leave it up to him - he deserves the right. yeah he's dropped a tad but it's up to him as far as I'm concerned.

Actually I didn't agree with the OP re today's game, I thought whilst he was very good in the air, and his attack on the pill was fantastic, his inability to take the ball on the half volley hurt him a few times and his lack of agility on the ground told once or twice, too.

Brilliant, articulate captain and great leader, just showing a few signs of age. I think it's probably a perfect note on which to sign off, to be honest.

I hope he goes out on this great note and I suspect he will.

Tom, thanks for everything you've put into the club, the player, and especially, leader that you've been.

I am lost for words, as I was when I got emotional when the boys were up on stage, but rest assured the fans truly appreciate you :thumbsu:

He speaks so well.

Wasn't his best game but I remember him flying back right near where I was sitting and almost getting himself knocked out again like '08.

Never squibbs.

Tom Harley will retire, right now he just wants to enjoy the special moment with the boys, then he will announce his retirement.
