If Hislop turns out to be 3/4 of the player Mitchell is i will be happy. Tommy has a few things to work on including getting rid of the dinky little short pass's he often chips around.

Mitchell is a superstar of the comp and is probably the best clearance player in the comp. Some people severely overate unproven talent. Dont get me wrong i think he'll probably be a good player.

I dont know much about Hislop but its 1 thing to dominate VFL and TAC cup footy but to dominate AFL like Mitchell is a totally different story. I'll be keeping an eye on him next year now. Hope he goes well

Listen here you pack of clowns. This board is for making discussion about the mighty Dons. Unfotunately there's not much to talk about at the moment.

The reality is, that someone will be the next Mitchell, Judd, Pavlich etc. IMO, Hissy has the tools to step up and be the player that Mitchell is. I never said that he currently is better. If we can't speculate on young potential on this board then we may as well not be here.

I also suggested that it was a big call at this early stage.

A very interesting comparison. Ive seen only limited footage of Hislop, but i have been impressed with what i have seen. As you've stated he is alot quicker as well as being better overhead, for those reasons i dont see them being in a similar mould. Mitchell has obvious weaknesses ie relatively slow and not great overhead, what makes Mitchell such a good player is the fact he focuses on improving his natural abilities ie clearance work and quality disposal.

I agree that Hislop will be a good player, i just dont see him in the same mould as Mitchell.

I would say if Tom hislop was half as good as sam mitchell you wouldn't be happy at all. In reality he would get delisted if he was half as good as sam mitchell and then we would have to draft someone else. He would be a bigger dud than guy richards if he were half as good as sam mitchell. Imagine the big occasions when the ball is passed to him and the delivery is only half as good as Sam Mitchells, I for one would be saying "man i wish he was better than half as good as sam mitchell" or "if he was better than half as good as sam mitchell we might have won that match"
