Behavioral issues, injury had nothing to do with it.

And seeing as they have a similar midifield issue to us i hope we stay away

As long as its not a severe substance abuse issue...i think being dumped can be a positive thing, a spur to make him realise his potential. Lets face they are footballers, he is young and wont be the last to **** up off the field. Pfeiffer is another interesting one, highly rated but also has behavioral issues

Strip clubs, bouncers, and ejecting after glass breaking. only a rumor but we can do better especially given he isnt great by foot

That sounds like an improvement on strip clubs, murderers and bikie lairs. I say we go for it Opti.

Essendon have indicated that hislop is the one who has severed ties. They invited him back down to the club to train and he wants out. they have suggested he will be picked up in the ND. Reading through the lines it sounds to me like someone has done a deal with him and essendon where still keen to offer him another chance.

I was envious of the Bummers when I saw him play.

The injuries and drunken stories have to be concerning. If we pull (or have already pulled) the trigger, then we will have had to have done our due diligence.

The kid can play and he fits a major need of (extremely!) hard at it 'first touch' ball winner / frustrating tagger.

Sometimes clubs do well out of taking a risk on a recycled with on or off field issues, especially if they have talent. Guerra is an example of someone who has turned it around with age and fulfilled a need for his club.

Pike had lots of issues b4 he went to the lions, and the was involved in 3 flags. Be good to have the same luck with Hislop.

Seeing as we delisted Thoolen I'd be happy to see us use any of 45,46 or 77 on him. As Figjam has said can play, fits a dire need for us.

Not worth risking in the real draft. Rookie at best.

If he is serious about AFL footy, then the motivation of getting promoted should be enough to drive him.

How so? Is deffinately going to have more to work with then anyone likely to be around at pick 77 and pick 77 is far more likely to be avalible in the rookie draft then Hislop.

In all honesty his going to have more to work with then anyone at 45 or 46 too and there is equal amount of risk of not working out. For 45 - 46 will raw upside eventuate. For Hislop will his behaviour prevent him from making it as a footballer.

I hope we've got him stitched up in a PSD deal.

ditto.. we need a nutcase in our team... all great sides require at least 1 nutter...

apart from being a nutjob he has the right traits for a position that we are greatly lacking in... hard at it, inside midfielders..

also, hes already been in the afl system so he would have afl required conditioning and would be ready to make a stake for selction from very early on....
