To be honest it is good that some young guys are pushing for selection as Mattner, Shaw, O'Keefe and Bolton will all be gone within 2 years and Goodes might not be around much longer than that either so that is 5 players definitely in our best 22 who need replacing really soon.

His 2nd contract would already be a worry for us, if we play him too early and he turns out to be an absolute gun we may not be able to accommodate his 2nd contract under our salary cap. We have sured up most of our premiership guns who are mainly midfielders.

My biggest fear with Tom is not salary cap issues. Id hate for him to get another big injury this year which results in him heading back home to west coast or freo seeking a fresh scene/start to get over injuries

His family is actually from Victoria. They only went over there because Barry got a job at Freo and I think his immediate family has now re-located to Sydney.
