All I ask is don't be too harsh on Thomas after all he has only just turned 21 and still young in both mind and body.

If l had a tissue, l'd give it to you.

Its a tough business footy, you win some, you lose some. Roach wasnt anywhere near what is expected of a top team. Move on.

I hope that the dockers pick him up in the rookie draft. His pace would be asset at Subiaco and us Dockers do need midfielders

All Roach needs to do is -

learn to tackle, chase and block
start playing accountable football
stop kicking 30m short-passes in preference to going long
stop hanging off packs looking to receive and start winning his own footy
demonstrate that he can keep a FP from having a field day
stop panic handballing under pressure
stop making kicking errors anytime he feels pressure from someone chasing
keep his passes to forwards down, not put them a metre over their heads
get fit enough to take long stints in the midfield
hope that Polo, Foley, Johnson, Newman and Hyde fall over so he gets a game as a tagger
hope that Howat, Raines, Hartigan, White, Oakley-Nicholls, Casserley fall over so he gets a game in the backpocket
hope that Brown, Pettifer, Krakouer, Meyer, Tambling fall over so he gets a game in the forward line
hope that we don't draft a midfielder in the upcoming draft to leave him even further down the pecking order

Good luck to Tom, i hope that we pick him up as a rookie.
He has a great attitude, and with a bit of luck he can still make it.

Go for it Tom, and good luck.

Sorry mate, after reading this heart felt plea I thought you must have been his mother. I did'nt realise brothers' best mates were so maternal. Good luck to Thomass. :D

:) GUYS, guys, guys....and girls too.

Let's learn our lesson from David Bourke (one great rookie season, but went downhill thereafter, quicker than a speeding train).
No room for sentiment in the AFL, especiaslly when it comes to the sons of club greats.
We pereisted with David Bourke far too long and ended up paying hima stack to play at the Kangaroos.
While Roach does not command the same sort of salary, best to let him go. Only taking up a spot on the list that could quite easily go to someone a helluva lot better or with far more upside.

Been said before on this website....if his name was Thomas Jones or Thomas davis, there really would be no issue. Weaver was very much on the ball. A lot of bizarre circumstances would need to happen for young Tom to get game time! Sorry!

His bro is about 6'6" and 90kg and he is still only 17 years old, he has had alot of knee problems though dislocating it several times and having to have it operated on last year, he has been playing in the ruck this year(after rotating between the forward and back line most of his footy life) and doing pretty well, he might not be able to go at the top level but it wouldn't be completly out of the question.
Matthew is fat.

Rubbish footballer but was unlucky on his 'last chance' against WCE to get hurt. Was playing quite well in the first half (before they blew us away) getting alot of the ball and holding his own.

Hasn't done enough to get rookied but would like him to play for Coburg next year, hopfully blow the VFL away and then rookie him the following season.

I've spoken to Thomas since being told of the desision(BTW he was told on Wednesday so it wasn't a huge suprise to him when Johno said it at the B&F but he still didn't expect Kane to say anything) he is very dissapointed but as of yet has not been told of possibly being redrafted or Rookied, if Thomas doesn't go to a footy team next year he has said that he will be going to WA to study at University.

Now as for everyone that is saying he is a dud and won't make it lets not forgethe has only just turned 21 years old, he is a good body size and has alot of pace, as for players who have come around after being delisted there is no better example than Shane Tuck but I won't harp on that I will look at the fact that Chris Hyde has been delisted then redrafted and also a player by the name of Ryan Crowley for the Fremantle Dockers who was drafted in 2002 and then delisted and picked up agan on the Rookie list and until last year had not shown alot Crowley is now 22 years old and playing very consistent footy at the Dockers and even dominationg the last game of the Home & Away season against Port Adelaide with 35 Possesions.

All I ask is don't be too harsh on Thomas after all he has only just turned 21 and still young in both mind and body.

For every Tuck, Crowley or even Hyde there are 100's of footballers who are delisted at 20-22 and are never seen or heard of again, because they were not good enough.

He isn't FAT, he has slimmed down quite considerably since growing so much taller, with a bit more time Matt will be about 6'7"-6'8" Tall and won't be that much bigger than he is now in weight.
Ok well Matt used to be Fat
