has anyone even seen young Tom Williams kick the ball let alone try to bounce it?? very laughable stuff.

Yeah, i nearly cried when i saw him kick a ball 60 metres. It was very funny stuff.

What's with the hatred of everything Bulldogs? Did one rip off your balls as a child or something?

i mean at least Trent could actually kick the ball, has anyone even seen young Tom Williams kick the ball let alone try to bounce it?? very laughable stuff.

Williams may not have been able to bounce the ball or kick the ball, but then again, neither did Jim Stynes. You could probably say the same about the Gaelic football converts at the Swans and Blues too.

From what I've read of Williams, no one is going to die wondering if he could have made it or not. He does seem to have the right attitude, and I think that if he can be taught to read the play, he will make a very good forward (if all goes well).

Personally, I was very keen for North to pick him up with a late speculative pick. Whilst I think pick #6 in itself was too high for him. But when you consider that the Bulldogs have drafted Cooney, Ray, and Griffin with top 5 picks in the last two seasons, I reckon for them, it was a risk worth taking.

I am interested to see how his career goes. We've got our own rugby convert (Brad Moran) on the list, so it will be interesting to see how the careers of both players pan out.

Williams played on a HBF yesterday in a intra club game and was pitted against Jesse Wells. He is a lot further advanced as a player at this stage that I thought he would be and even went forward and crumbed a good goal.
His ability to both attack and defend at the right times is a real bonus and he is reading the play well and making the correct decisions which is also very encouraging.
All-in-all I was very pleased with game and he appears to have put on a fair bit of weight and muscle. It wouldn't surprise to see him play a game or two and he must be an outside chance to get a run in the Wiz cup.

Wells also displayed his pace and athletic ability and given he missed a season of footy last year is also further advanced than I thought he would be.

Old School was there. I was too. Old School's assessment is about right.
