Seeing as it's quite an important result for Adelaide just wondering if anyone is giving the Bullies a chance tonight ?? I think they're in with a show, would be great for tradition if Adelaide could go into yet another prelim against them, creating quite the rivalry there !!

Although common sense says it's probably gonna be a West Coast win over there...

Thoughts on (or Hopes for) the result of W.C v W.B clash tonight ??

Best run in the competition. Excellent game last week. Johnson is a star. West & Smith playing their 300th. Cooney, Ray, Gilbee, McMahon are all game winners.

Having said that, the only reason WCE could lose is their forward line. If Lynch kicks 3-4 the Dogs' season is sunk.

I'd say their a 25% chance of pulling it off. Go Dogs!

I Want the Doggies to win as Scott West, Brad Johnson, Rohan Smith and Chris Grant are all champion players in the AFL and even better blokes but seriously cannot see it happening. Finals are won with heart, emotion and the most important aspect of the game talent.

The doggies can match the West Coast with heart and emotion but the West Coast have a plethora of talent all over the ground, even in there forward line adn thats where they will win the game tonight.

More talent.

West Coast by 43 points.

I am tipping the dogs. No betting but!
Toasters just have to many underdone players to hold the pace that yhe dogs will set.

here's hoping you're right !! (all fingers crossed)

Oh I give Doggies a chance. A real good chance because they can match WC in the midfield and thats almost half the battle won IMHO. I give them a chance but having said that, I just can't picture eagles going out in straight sets

Wouldn't be surprised if the WCE won easily. Would be very pleasantly surprised if the doggies got up though.

So the heart says Doggies but the head says Eagles.

Watch for Cooney, I have a feeling tonight he will annouce himself to the AFL world as a genuine superstar if he isn't one already.
Go doggies!!
West & Smith deserve a win :thumbsu: :thumbsu: :thumbsu: .

No top two side has gone out in straight sets since the final 8 commenced in 1994, so history is against the Doggies. But records are meant to be broken, perhaps this is the year. Big ask for the Doggies.

Actually Carlton went out in straight sets after finishing 2nd in 94, Geelong did the same in 97.

Cooney is having a terrible game, I wouldnt be too bothered who we play both are playing terrible football and it is a shocking game of football, no skills what-so-ever from either side.

I was going to raise the topic of Cooney as there is often speculation about trying to lure him home.

That one's right off the radar as far as I'm concerned.

Cooney damaged his reputation with a real sh itter in both effort and disposal. Reputations are made and broken on the big stage of finals and Cooney demolished his tonight IMO.

Griffen on the other hand is a beauty. Really puts in, has great foot skills, and kept trying to stop the blue and gold tidal wave coming forward non-stop.

I'd love to see him in our tri-colours.

To me the Doggies barely showed up, they did fight hard but the Eagles were less then impressive in the first three quarters and shouldve won by more, the doggies disposals and skills in general were terrible the whole night. I think they dropped about 10+ chest marks.

Darren Jarman 1991 grand Final. Absolute stinker (IIRC he wasn’t to flash in the 1989 GF either)

Allow the kid to mature and the side to mature around him before suggesting his reputation has been ruined

I agree.

Hasn't found his best position yet. A lot of mid-sized, quick players take a few seasons to find their best position and produce their best footy. Burton and Goddard spring to mind.

I'm not sure Cooney demolished his reputation, but he certainly damaged it. IIRC his game in the 2003 grand final was a stinker as well. He is a bit of a front runner at the moment IMO. Clearly capable, but just doesn't work hard enough all the time to be in the elite group. He should watch a tape of Chris Judd to see a genuine champion work in every area of the game, not just as an outside receiver.

Griffen is a gun.

If Griffen had Cooney's pace he would be the blue print for a footballer. His ability to break tackles is as good as I have seen. He is a real thinking footballer. A genuine gun. One of the best players to come out of SA in recent times.

Well thats the last time I believe anyone on the radio again:( . Should have checked it myself, perhaps they meant Minor Premier!

Well i have no idea if this is what you were talking about but no team has ever gone out in "straight sets" after finishing top since the top 8 came in
