Been getting relatively good reviews so far (8's almost everywhere I've looked) and most are complaining it's a bit hard to get used to, because it's so much more realistic - sounds like it might be the equivalent of the 2K8/Live debate again - with Take2 developing more realistic games that reward those with actual skill.

Been reported the PS3 version is superior - also, the PS3 version has Rafael Nadal as a playable character whilst the 360 doesn't. Not sure why Microsoft let Take2 get away with that.

Anyway, I'll probably pick it up.

lol you had to get a cheap shot in by saying the ps3 version is superior. seriously it isvertiully the same and the graphics are pretty much excatly the same. the nadal thing doesn't bother me though as i hate the guy lol. but agree surprised the microsoft allowed that to happen. is that confirmed though?

Yep, confirmed. He's in the career mode as the bad guy/rival in both versions, but only playable in PS3.

so haveing nadal is the reason the ps3 version is better? you guys are missing out on the online career mode which i though would be even more of a downer. either way i love tennis games as it's something me and my gf can enjoy playing together.

I don't think the PS3 misses out on the online career mode. IGN made no mention of it.

Actually the 360 version is looking better, but only the courts, although I am extremly glad I don't have the Wii version, if anyone can find the comparison vid between the 360, Wii and PS3 it is hilarious seeing the Wii's in comparison to the proper next-gen consoles.

Good thing for the PS3 to get Rafa, and in regards to your last post KP the PS3 will not be getting the online career mode with release, it will be released as a patch later on, it is in the IGN review.

Unfotunatly though once again as with all 2K games this keeps getting pushed back week after week, hopefully is out either tomorrow or Friday, but not getting my hopes up.

BTW Karl you should have done a search first as there was already a thread up on this game, EDIT: Which I see was bumped up again. MODS ANY HELP?!?

I know! It's ridiculous. The graphics are only a touch better than on PS1 or N64.

War, war never changes.

Just wondering where the OP gets his info from?

IGN review.

All that metacritic score shows, is that 360 owners are more easily pleased than PS3 owners.

It's the same f'ing game, yet 360 fans, being of subpar intelligence and all, are less discerning.

Separate reviews. Update:

PS3 = 71 :thumbsd:

360 = 78 :thumbsu:
Bit of an unfair comparison all up though through the reviews, the PS3 version has only 7 reviews, 1 of them is a PS magazine review.

Where as the 360 version has 11 reviews, 5 of which are XBOX magazine reviews, the XBOX mags give 2 90's, an 83, and 2 80's, there not comparitive reviews so they should really be on both PS3 and 360 sites.

Also I lol at the 2 worst reviews,
it is ultimately undone by the most obvious of gaming mistakes: bad controls.
It's a bit of an awkward comparison, but I see shades of "Ninja Gaiden" here: It's unassailably gratifying when the mechanics finally click and you start slicing and volleying your way to victory, but at the same time, it's prohibitive to folks who don't want to spend hours in the school of hard knocks, pursuing what should be a relatively uncomplicated act of learning the game's basic rules and logic.
Translation = It's TOO HARD AND TAKES TOO LONG TO LEARN, WAH, WAH, WAH!!!
So because games are tough now it means they are bad?!?

Check out the Ninja Gaiden 2 reviews, all whining about it being too hard.

Very good so far, the create a player is amazing, the options are endless.

The mechanics are nice, I like the whole new control system and it works really well, there will be a steep learning curve for anyone playing it though, I am finding it very hard to get around it at the moment, but probably could to with some more lessons in the Top Spin School.
