*! Just found out that I'm going to need to do an entire NG+ run for Platinum to get all the Journals, because I missed a ****ing key in the Prologue. Why the * would they set it up like this?! Wasted all that ****ing time searching for the Jornals for naught.

I knew I had to restart another game to get the Mime, but did not expect this bullshit.
Here's a crazy idea, just dont bother getting the platinum. Play the game and enjoy it and put it down when you stop enjoying it.
Devs put in all kinds of bullshit to extend play time for no good reason just so people feel compelled to get every single achievement, **** that.
Still a great game though, not a shot at you btw.

Here's a better idea, let me rant. I've clearly committed to going for Platinum, so telling me not to, isn't bloody helpful. There are plenty of other games where I've looked at the required achievements and thought "**** that", but this looked like it was going to be a fairly straight forward clean up. So it's pretty frustrating to find that a trophy you get end game can't be achieved because you missed something at the very start.

I've just beaten the last boss (albeit with a cheese build), will try do a quick run through on story mode. I still need to grind a few more levels to 99 anyway.

And yes, it is still a fantastic game!

I'm trying to do this at the moment but the party turn order is bugged out of its mind for me. No matter what I do, Maelle goes first. This is regardless of who I give First Strike to, the order I select them in the menu, speed stat, whatever. Looking it up online there are lots of reports of this and then lots of people disagreeing about how it works and offering solutions that don't seem to work for everyone. Little miffed. I've got a couple more things to try but failing that, dunno what I'll do.

This happened to me too at one point and it just ended up fixing itself. I even took off all my first turn pictos and stuff too just to make sure it wasn't something like that. From memory it was after a part where it forced me to use certain members and in game speak all I can assume happened is somehow in the background it just incorrectly stored my party order and it takes until another moment to forcibly write a new party order.

It certainly does seem temperamental. I had Sciel, Verso and Maelle (in that order) and speed stats also highest to lowest in that order. They all had First Strike so they all went before the Boss. I've had most success with keeping to an order by selecting only the first person by themselves first, then selecting the other two. But yeh, seems a bit bugged out.

Yeah, unfortunately I've tried all of this. The other two party members swap around accordingly but no matter what I do, Maelle goes first. Pretty infuriating.

I played 2 hours and couldn't get into it

I love turned based games as well

Maybe I should try and get back into it
It took a bit to click for me but once it did

The Simpsons Kiss GIF by FOX International Channels

Just finished the first area of act 2 and scraped through the boss fight

I'd spent a bit of time backtracking with Esquie and looking around also failed a few times at a boss fight in yellow harvest

Might go back to that fight now with my new pictos and extra levels

Still working my way through Act 2

Beat Visages Axon

They're hinting again at a lot more going on than we know about

Feeling a little underpowered but I'm finally getting some mats to upgrade weapons again

This game does have a few humps where it stops you and forces you to level up a bit. I know some people disliked that but I just took it as me not doing enough side stuff before hand meaning I wouldn't have had to grind a few levels here and there.
Yeah I've had a look around at side areas around where I am, I've hunted down most of the pictos i can get right now

Think I just need to farm Sirene for a bit

The end of act two

shocked holy shit GIF

The story is so meta. Even when it clicked a bit for me what was going on before it was revealed I did not expect the way it happened. If you go back through the thread (maybe after you've finished though  ) you'll see I had some late game complaints, mostly about the combat because some enemies were just cheesy and not fun, the longer it sits with me the more it is my clear GOTY. I didn't think anything would beat KCD2 because I love RPGs and that's one of the best I've ever played but this game has stuck with me longer. I'm still regularly listening to the soundtrack and then I find myself reading discussions and theories while listening and then I spend days thinking about it.
