There is another character who you meet later who reminds me of Trent Crimm (the reporter) out of Ted Lasso. The wife said Gustave looks like Robert Pattinson and now I can't unsee it. Ruined.
I also thought this straight away. The wife said Gustave looks like Robert Pattinson and now I can't unsee it. Ruined.

I do find it a bit funny when you approach a giant boss arena but it’s turn based so you could just fight in a shoe box.The fight with the Dualliste is epic AF. It definitely drew quite a bit of inspiration from DS3 Pontiff but that was also one of my favourite boss fights.

Just rolled credits.
Man what a game. A game that I knew little to nothing about prior to its release has entrenched its self in my top 5 favourite games of all time.
If turn based combat is your thing do yourself the service of experiencing this masterpiece.
Without spoilers because I think I'm still in Act 2, is that the first or second ending? I was wondering when I could start exploring all these red portals and the internet tells me to keep going with main story and it makes more sense to do them after then unlock another ending. I stopped reading there for obvious reasons but does that make sense?
The first time I can actually call a fight bullshit
Late Act 2

Some moves are so hard to dodge or parry because it's just a mess of FX. Then right when you get his 20 moves down... hey here's some more and they'll be OHK.
I may have to go away and farm or something to cheese this because it's giving me the shits.
edit: lmao famous "whinge and then win"
Changed up my party and actually didn't realise I could still attack him when the petals were out. For some reason I thought I couldn't and just damaged them before they had a chance to heal.
His move set can still get ****ed though.
That fight was ****ed. Took me a few hours until I got lucky with the rng on their attacks because a few I could dodge or parry to save my life.
Verso carried me through the fight. Have the weapon that bases is rank off damage taken, so I’d use the ability that takes his hp down to 1 and puts his ap at 9. Pair that with the picto that halves health but gives 3 shields and you have a glass cannon that can still take 3-4 hits.
I used Maelle and Verso as my DPS team and Lune the healer. I've rolled credits and still mucking around but Maelle just destroys everything most of the time now and Verso has fallen off the DPS wagon. Some of the end content is still really hard even though I can do 2m hits with Maelle. I need to go back to the well and respec Verso or build up someone else to help compete. My main combination at the time was Maelle, Lune and Verso. Verso was to replace Gustave and initially I was using Lune and Gustave purely to buff Maelle and keep her in Virtuose stance as much as possible. I couldn't get Verso to work as well as Gustave so turned him into mostly a buff bot with some AoE capability and while not perfect it was still carrying me through until that fight where I just simply couldn't put out enough damage. I switched Verso for Monoco purely for Vanish fodder as I was having trouble reliably gradient countering it. I didn't realise how much damage Monoco was actually capable of and he single handedly crushed the boss for about 2/3rds of his health in two turns and Maelle in Virtuose stance wrecked him for the rest of it. Now I'm going to farm Nevrons with Monoco for more abilities because he is absolutely brutal.
Maelle starts in Virtose stance for me, I can Nuke and go again, re-apply with Last Chance which drops her to 1 HP but I get another Nuke straight away. Health returns on killing enemies so it's pretty easy. Verso doesn't get a chance to build up his ranks so I think I'll just swap him out for buffs.Verso goes hard if you can get his rank up and keep it there but I can't do it reliably so it looks like I'm going to swap him out permanently for Monoco. I really want to find a way to use Sciel as I like her combat loop but she just doesn't synergise with my game plan. I looked up a few builds but they require weapons I don't have access to yet so I'm basing it around abilities for now. I've got a pictos on Maelle where she applies burn on crit, otherwise I use Lune for burn (and a few heals if needed) so I can reliably put Maelle into Virtuose stance. Then I'd normally use Verso to mark or buff the party with powerful so the loss of Mark is poo but with the amount of damage Monoco can put out it more than makes up for it.

I was recommended to play this game and that was one of my first thoughts. It's quite interesting so far.nah there is a mini boss clair that I'm simply not bothering with anymore. I'm out of revives and have to push on to a flag. Their attacks are stupid. They wind up and you get a ping when they activate their sword. Sometimes it's one ping, sometimes it's two. If it's one they're about to attack and that "feels" right. When it's the second they hold it. Wtf are you meant to do? Count and memorise how long until they actually swing? There is no tell. What about if it's their 3 move attack or the 2 move where the first attack is identical to each other but the second move this time is a gradient? You dodge the first and if you time second dodge immediately thinking (more like guessing) it's the 3 move combo but it was actually the 2 move then you better hope you're back into position quick enough to gradient counter. Then their main gradient attack. Holy shit. They jump and in the air and..... that's it. You play chicken and tap the gradient counter button a few times when you think it's coming. Again, there is no tell. Biggest rubbish enemies in the game so far for me and this zone is littered with them.
