I just saw this on the bullants site......wonderful news for HBF !!!
ANTS IMPRESS
In what was an encouraging display, the NAB Bullants won both matches against Casey Scorpions this weekend despite taking the field with only one Carlton-listed player, the Irish rookie Michael Shields (the Scorpions appear to have had three listed and three rookie players from the St. Kilda list).
Not expecting too much from the match, Bullants General Manager Garry O'Sullivan was delighted by the efforts of both sides. "We were particularly pleased with our defensive skills against a five-goal wind and the way they ran the ball through the lines. The fierce display around the stoppages was also pleasing for our senior coach David Teague"
Highlighting the Bullants defensive effort was the fact that Scorpions first goal did not come until early in the last quarter.
The side was well led by coach David Teague who kicked three goals and among a number of players to impress were Jake Williams coming back from mouth surgery, Billy Morrison and young Nick Meese with great work rotating through the ruck, Sunbury Lions recruit Mitch Brewer was solid at full-back, Adrian Totino showed he is going to be a great acquisition in 2008 and Jonathan Mercuri again performed well.
The NAB Bullants won the match 11. 4. 70 to Casey 4. 9. 33
