went to a diff tab today as i was out for lunch and noticed different trackside odds?? now forgive me if im wrong but i thought trackside was 1- the same everywhere and 2- the same odds everywhere

eg the horse i put on number 11 normally pays 30 bux for a win, today payed 33.80 for a win and 9.80 for a place, not that im complaining as i played 1 race today 5 bucks eachway on 11, but just curious??? cheerz

yes there are different odds for different pools
unless u went to another state for lunch i cant explain why there were different odds

The track can be very tempremental ... it can get you out of a hole with your last bet on a bad day or it can tease you mercilessly until you've got nothing left.

It's so addictive ...

Also ... does anyone have a favourite trackside horse number or name of a tarckside horse (yeah i've watched a few races)?

My favourite horse is #4 and my favourite name is Nightrider.

Are the names different TAB to TAB?

I feel uneasy when I'm not at my local TAB and aren't familiar with the names of the foreign trackside horses

For those who are interested, I'll quickly rate some of the horses.

#1 - Best when sitting midfield and bursting away in the last 200m or so. Very good on the trots. If it's on a winning streak, chances are it'll keep winning.

#2 - The horse with the most heart and is the only one capable of winning when last at the turn. Excels at jump races.

#3 - Likes to lead and if it gets a fair way in front will not get run down. Best at gallops. A serial second-place getter when a dog.

#4 - Sits just behind the pace then comes down the outside. The most succesfull dog. Very streaky, whether losing or winning. Will run a place 1/3 races.

#5 - Similar racing style to #3 however lacks the stamina of its classier counterpart and often gets run down in the final 100m of a race. Best on the trots.

#6 - Can go extremely long periods without winning or even running a place. Not bad on the dogs.

#7 - Very hit and miss. Can win from on pace or back in the field. If it goes a while without winning a race and then does, chances are it'll win two in a row. Look for others when it's a trotter.

#10 - Back it for the place when it has an AFL-related name. Trust me
